I need to weigh myself! I've lost a bit more. I can tell by my pics. I finished my 50 miler this weekend, o what fun! Few more pounds to go, but not more than 5-7 probably.

http://www.runnersworld.com/community/forums/index.jsp?plckForumPag...

Congratulations on the 50-miler - that is amazing!

This is proving EXPENSIVE!

I already have several pairs of trousers I cant wear any more and I am not yet at my target weight. Best news is that my 'goal' pair of trousers (bought a pair deliberately too tight a couple of years ago) are now a perfect fit. I've still got a few last lbs to shift for my target weight for Xmas, and might just about get there with a little luck and extra effort, but have shifted downwards my ultimate goal and decided 170lbs is where I should be by the spring. Next weigh in at the weekend so will see how I'm doing

A day late:

10/29: 149.6/146.4/140.0
11/5: 149.6/146.2/140.0
11/12: 149.6/150.2/140.0
11/19: 149.6/147.2/140.0
11/25: 149.6/151/140.0

Never good to weigh myself after a night of drinking. I am ok with this...next week will be better. Birthday week plus thanksgiving plus not being careful will never make you lose weight. I start coaching winter track this week so I am hoping that will help me lose a few extra pounds.

I got as low as 181 last week, but have increased my training frequency this last week and been eating a little more to ensure recovery. Maybe I added a few too many calories back in? Still heading in the right direction and with very visible physical results as well.

Surprised myself at Thanksgiving dinners this year. Had one on thursday and another on Friday. Ate less than half of what I usually do.

My stats from last week...

Key: Start/Current/Goal
Batlou: 179/174/165

No Change.  Ughh.  I seem to be stuck at 174 although my clothing is fitting better and my belt has tightened up a notch.  I guess things are happening and perhaps I need to measure again.  Have not done that in a while.

i think i am in the same boat but admit clothes that haven't fit for years now do which is encouraging. i even went about bought some news jeans, a 34, not been a 34 since before i was married and that's 5 years ago. so maybe i should concentrate less on the weight thing.

I apologize for being so absent lately.  I am back home but am seriously lacking motivation.  I'm a bit depressed after getting to spend so much time with family and now we are so far away again but that doesn't explain why I am so tired and just can't get moving.  I'm forcing myself to do something each day no matter how small but it's been a struggle.  As for my weight...I'm stuck!  I need to get out of this rut I've found myself in...

Down 11 pounds since starting, it going by fast! I am close to 11% bodyfat now, I got a little sloppy with my diet on thanksgiving, but made up for it by getting sick and curbing my calories. Getting down to my goal will take serious effort up until Christmas, I hope I can do it! Wow , two weigh ins on one page, where did everyone go?

Same as it ever was...

Have been negleting my exercise this week because of a crazy schedule at work and home.  Have a 10 mile race coming up on Jan 1st so I better get my stuff together and get back on the horse.

Well, I'm not going to hit my goal of 325, but I'll keep going.  Trainer says I need to get off the stationary bike and do more elliptical; maybe my body has become too efficient on the stationary bike...  I also wonder if I'm burning off muscle when I do intervals on the stationary bike?  I try to alternate between intervals and long/slow and keep increasing the tension.  What do you all think?

I have nothing but excuses as I have found myself in a rut where I have no motivation but since I already cried on your shoulders about that, I won't go there again!  I woke up this morning and just sat there for a minute trying to figure out what is going on in my head.  While I didn't really arrive at an answer, I have vowed to end this pity party so that I can at least end this challenge on a good note and go from there!

Good luck with it Hippychick. I hope you get back on track with it all. Have you thought about focus on another goal that might help? I recently signed up for my first ever half marathon in March, which helps me get out and run, even if I was otherwise not feeling so motivated. I also converted my old bike to a fun singlespeed and made it a goal to try and tide it every day, even if only for 10-15 mins.

I got back on track and broke my psychologically powerful 180 barrier for the first time...

Start:     201lbs
Goal:      175lbs

Current:  179.5lbs

Not confident I'll quite make my 175 goal by Xmas, as I'm eating more to recover from my harder training sessions these days. Much longer runs and lots of rides mean I'm focusing a little more on post-exercise eating so I maximise my recovery. I'm still seeing the benefits though, and have lost lots of inches all over. My longer term goal is now 173lbs, which I hope I can achieve by end January. If the weather stays a little drier then I should be able to get out for a lot more long rides so feel this is achieveable.

Thanks Damon!  I am working on figuring out my race shedule and my first one will most likely be a short run (8.2 miles) in Feb.  I am also toying with the idea of doing my first HIM next year but training for that wouldn't start until January.  Sooo, in the meantime, I've allowed myself this weekend to get my head back in the game and then I shall start up with a new (short lived off season) training plan where I will have somewhat of a different focus for a bit.  I've found I desperately need something to follow as I don't do well when left to my own devices!

Also, huge congrats for the break through!!  That is GREAT!

Posting late this week.

Week 1 (11/19)  185

Week 2 (11/26)  185

Week 3 (12/3)    181

I need to come up with a plan from Dec 24 to after New Year's.  I work out at the employee fitness center on campus and it will be closed then.  Don't want to have to back track on what's been lost.  Have 2 parties next week that will be sure to have lot's of temptations.

thanks... The HIM sounds like just what you need. I suspect that will help you make some significant changes!

I had to travel again today and am once again the other side of the world from home, but luckily with a decent gym in the hotel. I managed a 60 min treadmill run, thanks to my iPod dealing with the boredom, but maybe foolishly, while running and thinking, I made a commitment to get seriously ripped and sort my physique out! I want to hit 40 this summer in the best shape of my life, and looking as good as well. That means I need to continue to shift these fat reserves which is going well so far, but I have to add some muscle in my upper body so I have something to show now the fat is disappearing. I have 8 months to create a decent looking chest, set of shoulders and some abs now, in addition to spending 2010 building my base endurance. I hope the 2 goals are complimentary, as my focus on LSD runs and biking should help burn fat, and not interfere with some regular gym work at the same time?

Well, I am going to get over this 174 hump at some point.  I guess I have stalled out to some degree.  Perhaps I have been a little laxed on my food choices as well...stupid peanuts.

Since my HM I have been pretty lazy and not very motivated.  Signing up for races and having a plan seems to be the only way to keep me motivated.  I have a 10 miler coming up on New Years Day so I am down to 2 build weeks with one taper week prior to the race.  So here is my plan for the next 3 weeks.

Week 1
M-T-W-T-F-S-S
4-O-5-3-O-9-0
Week 2
M-T-W-T-F-S-S
4-O-5-3-O-10-0
Week 3
M-T-W-T-F-S-S
4-O-5-3-O-5-0
Race Week
M-T-W-T-F-S-S
4-O-3-O-10-O-O

Made a huge error in my diet, went from 40% carbs to 60% carbs recommended by my training program, talk about instant weight gain, I went from 184 to 188 before I cut back on my carbs to 40% again. The next two weeks I will reduce my carbs to almost 100 grams a day, see if I can get my bodyfat in the single digits.
