Morning everyone! I signed for a biking event happening at the end of this month.  It's called The Chilly Hilly.  33 miles of hills!  I did it last year! Loads of fun. You stop half way through and eat chili. Nom.

Art-- Great photo! THanks for posting. More snow for you today?

Lynne -- Sounds like a fun ride.

All-- I'm still here. Just have been a little tired lately. Training is training. I'm feeling  a bit burned out though. Not sure if I need a break or what. My long runs are up to 1:45 - 2:00 hours on Sat. and then long rides at 3:45 with a :15 minute brick run on Sundays, so the weekends wipe me out. Just swam some and did some yoga yesterday.

I may have some women's cycling and tri clothing for pay it forward, but wanted to give the Manatees first shot. I'll try and post a better list when I have more time.

Have a great day everyone!! Sounds like everyone is healthy now...good news!

For what it's worth, Lynn, I have decided to make Monday my rest day -- just one day off a week.  I am so enjoying training, but I do try to fit in so much on the weekend that I was really, really pooped yesterday.  It seems to set me off right for the rest of the week.  You might feel better/less burned out if you let yourself take one day off a week.

Art, no offense, but I think I'd rather train in Melyssa's neighborhood than yours!

Me too, but I couldn't handle the commute!

Everyone in Pennsylvania, stay warm! There's actually not much snow here in Philly... BUT it's got a layer of sleet coming down on top of it right now...
(the nice part about the snow for me: it seals up all the drafts in the basement, so my apt is actually warmer, haha)

Beth - Hope you're feeling better soon.

Everybody - Good job getting it done!

It's really coming down here in Lancaster County! Office is closed, so I don't even have to feel guilty about not going in. Bad news is the pool is closed also. Since it's snowing horizontally, I'll probably have to resort to the treadmill again and then follow it up with snowshoveling.

I just got home from the gym. I did 17 miles on the bike (Cybex 530C) at level 16 in 1 h and after that I did 2 km rowing at level 10 in 9:30 min.
Now it's time for lunch.

Guys guys guys I just did my first two-a-day!

I did my first snow shoveling workout this morning...

... and I did my evening snow shoveling workout just now! :D

(I actually had every intention of biking tonight too, but this is probably not the greatest idea, my back informs me)

ladylucky - 2010-02-08 12:36 PM I had a great weekend too! A birthday party on Saturday with my best friend and then a lazy Sunday (no football). Today I had planned to get up early and work out, but I sleeo so bad last night that I really needed to sleep in today.
So work out has been moved to tonight instead.

/Mia

reid15 - 2010-02-08 4:52 PM Hi Everybody! It's been a busy week or so. Between increased training, work and lots of snow (ugh!) I haven't had much time to post. I have appreciated you guys checking in with me though! Training is going pretty well. I'm adjusting to the increased volume and the introduction of some intervals has helped increase my speed in the pool (at least a little, there is a lot of room for improvement). Dineen - No "divine wisdom" to share but I will say having a coach has really helped me mentally. Now I just focus on doing my workouts for the week and ask questions when I need to. It's not necessary, there are plenty of resources out there, but I know it was the best decision for me in order to meet my goals for this year. Inspired by Melyssa's pics, I thought I would try to post one of my own. Here is what my run on Sunday morning looked like. Yes, those are the Amish buggies that passed me as I ran. Art

what a great picture Art!

thanks for sharing

Wow your snow even made it onto our national news tonight.. Philadelphia I think it was.

haven't trained for two days as work got in the way and was unwell today.. funny how now two days without exercise just feels so bad!

Another funny snippet for you.. when I was out training with my tri group on Tuesday there was another elderly couple out by the harbour having a picnic.. the lady wandered over to me and asked what we were doing.  I explained we were training for a triathlon and then when we came out of the the water and stripped our wetsuits off for the bike ride (it was raining by then), she wandered back past me and hissed 'you're crazy, you know!' hahaha but it's a good crazy right??

Hope all is going well everyone
