Got in a good workout last night. I could tell my training has been lacking and that I've been taking it easy. I did some sprint intervals and the last one was much slower than the first. I can go long and slow or short and fast (very short-like those animals that can go really fast for a very short distance). I would like to get some speed on the longer runs.

YAWN....  Good morning team!  What's on tap for today and the weekend?  Anybody racing?

No race this weekend but it will be busy. Need to fix the sprinklers so I can finally water my lawn (its not looking too good), fix the leaking roof, pick my son up from camp, and try to fit in a swim/bike/run (gotta catch up).

Frustrating night last night. My wife and I were going to go to the gym but when I got home, she had to talk. Nothing against talking. I know you ladies have a need to talk and us guys need to listen but timing is a big thing. She talked right up until we had to leave to be able to get in a workout before the gym closes. Then I couldn't find my goggles (took them out of my bag to fit the stuff for my running race last weekend). By the time I finally found them, the pool was closing in 15 minutes. So we went to the high school track instead.
Couldn't the talking have waited until after the workout? What's up ladies? Can you help me understand this?

Just a few more days left.  I think I'll be close to hitting my numbers even with a week off from man-flu.  If I don't hit my numbers, sorry team.

Philly Tri on Sunday... WOOT!  There will be some big names there including Greg Bennett, Matty Reed and Sara McLarty.  They'd better watch out because I'll be hot on their tails... OK... I'll be crossing the finish line while they're already back at their hotels taking a nap.

I had a good run on my lunch hour today. Well, a walk/run to be true, but good progress nonetheless.

I got a iPhone 4 yesterday--yay! I downloaded a podcast for the first C25K workout. It's just silence with a Steven Hawkings-esque voice saying when to run and when to walk, but it worked. It worked very well, I could relax during both my runs and walks without have to hold a watch up in front of my face the whole time.

Other big improvement came from a conversation with a coworker yesterday... Me: “That concrete trail sure is convenient to the office, but I think it’s hard on my joints and making it hard to learn to run.” Him: “Why don’t you run in the grass beside the trail?” Me: “Oh.”

And with that, I have completed my number of sessions run/walk goal. I should even be able to do two more next week.

I'm not going to meet my number of sessions swim goal. I was sick last week and missed two. I got one made up that weekend. I was going to make the other one up this weekend, but I skipped this morning's swim to sleep in and recover from standing in line 7 hours yesterday. I'll make that one up this weekend and be one short for the month.

I just haven't been getting much bike time in this month. I made my 15-mile "Oasis route" in less than one hour ride time once, but I need to repeat that in the remaining days here...

Hope you guys are doing well and I look forward to sharing this awesome story with you when I get back!

Glad to hear you're still alive and doing well. You're an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work and we'll "see" you when you get back. Its been pretty quiet around here without you to liven things up a little bit.

I'm female. I don't talk much.

My motto is "Taser first. Figure out the rest later."
