No I actually thought I had it,, but then it didn't work and it was the rumored one that had already been posted as mostly correct or a possible one, maybe it was on ST if it wasn't here, so it wasn't the official one anyway. Although the thought of Rick Rolling y'all did cross my mind |

Master 2238 Dallas | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas : Official Thread When is everybody officially starting "the training plan" for the race? Are you doing 20, 24 or 30 weeks? maybe more? If anybody wants to join the long rides here in DFW we're going long every Saturday (doing three different routes) 44, 64 or 78 miles with paces varying between 14mph and 22/23mph average for the "fast boys". Doing some centuries every now and then as well and the occasional rally (Goatneck 70 miles last weekend). The group is huge, some Saturdays the attendance is 50 or more. Leaving out of RBM next to White Rock Lake. Shoot me a PM if interested. There's no cost. |

Extreme Veteran 1986 Cypress, TX | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas : Official Thread I have to get through the Syracuse 70.3 and IMFL first. I probably won't start really training for IMTX until January. I think that's about 20 weeks on the dot. |

Elite 3088 Austin, TX | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas : Official Thread I mentioned up thread that my plan right now is really training for IM 70.3 Austin in October. Then I'll take a few weeks off before I start my IMTX plan. I have 28 weeks of workouts scheduled, but the first 8 are pretty much maintenance of the 70.3 fitness until the "real" work starts. |

However, until them I'm still planning on doing more training than I otherwise might, especially on the bike. The bike killed me at IMCdA last year and that's not happening again... |

Same thing for me ... Training right now is concentrated on preparing for the Austin HIM, figure I will take a few weeks after that of light bike and run work, but hit the gym for strength training and core work and then start a 20 week plan sometime in December to give me a few extra weeks of cushion if needed. I still havent decided on a particular plan at this point but have been reading through a couple fo books (beironfit, going long, and training plans for multisport atheletes) the decision will be made on which ever plan I think will fit me best. I think we will see one of the best pro fields save for Kona. IMTX has the second largest pro purse (Kona #1) and is considered a P-4000 race for the new Ironman point system that will apply for 2011 and beyond (the only higher point race is Kona). IMTX is also going to be the Ironman North American Championship event, with Ironman Frankfurt the European Championship (the only other P-4000 race) and Kona is obviously the World Championship (P-6000 race). |
