The car rental places weren't at the airport, they were at a parking garage miles away. The rental places all used to be WAY off site, but most of them have moved to a big lot right across the street from the airport, and they all have shuttle service so it's not too bad. I HIGHLY recommend we rent enough cars for 3-4 people per car. And Robin - honestly, any of those places we've found on Home Away would be great. I'd say staying in Carlsbad would be easiest, especially for race-morning logistics. the city of Oceanside would work as well, since the race starts almost right abreast the two towns. If we decide to stay farther down the coast in San Diego to enjoy the city more, then anywhere along the beach from La Jolla to Point Loma would be good. The nice thing about the Point Loma area is it's just a couple miles from the airport. |
