I know, I really should not complain. It was 77 on the days preceding the rain here too.

I got my swim in at the Y during a work break. I also need to fit in a run today and core. Oh, and walk the momma's baby, the dog. I have her pic up now.

So Eric, great job on the ride and you have this Polar Bear 50k this weekend? Wow, way to incorp. race/workout.

Hang in there everyone!!!!! It pays off in the end.

I did a ride at my bike place.  Felt really good and was really speedy on the hills.  The foot is feeling better today.  All the rest/ice/stretching seemed to help yesterday and I am repeating some of it again today.  Our weather is weird here too: high around 40, rain and thunderstorms! and a county south of here there was a severe thunderstorm warning in Jan....nuts!!!

Otherwise...a pretty good day...might pour myself a glass of wine and relax   Have a good night everyone!

Hi guys! This is a drive-by posting.... Things have been really crazy at work. As a result, it's cut into my training time (and my BT time). I worked 11 hours today without a single break (or lunch). Got home, and the phone was already ringing. I'm still working now.... I expect it'll be like this for awhile. A coworker resigned and left the same day, so I have to pick up her work (and still do mine).... Can you feel my joy? LOL

Happy Tuesday---it just doesn't seem the same without our daily dose of glitter does it?  Start my masters swim class today....that should be interesting.  I'm going to try to run later tonight and maybe do yesterday's leg workout that I missed.  Then, I get to work again tonight...sounds like a fun day to me

I think I'm gonna like Masters. First time in a while that I've been excited about swimming. Helped that I was one of the faster people there, but I think the drills are going to get me focused and hopefully more efficient.  Only 1550 today, we were supposed to do 2150 but spend some extra time talking about technique and drills.

I think I'm going to try to get over to the Y and run soon.

Good to see all the notes.  I can tell we are all getting busy, the threads are getting fewer posts these days.  But, they are great posts.  Eric, good to see you on track again and the cold long gone.  The steady word from everyone is an inspiration.  I am lucky to be part of this great group.  Thanks for all the kind words in the logs.  I look forward to them each day.  It makes a real difference!

Wow...looks like everyone is doing really well.  I still haven't heard back from the masters team back at school....maybe I'll e-mail them again or go talk to them one night when I know they are there.  Looks like we have a lot of early morning motivated people.  I have to get up early to go to the dentist instead of going to train...booooo...hopefully I won't get yelled at for not flossing enough.   Keep up the great work everyone!

And yet another drive-by posting! Once again, I was at work early, and things were crazy. HOWEVER, I did a swim after work. It felt icky. But I got the yardage in, and now I feel better. Amazing what a nice workout will do for you.

(That said, there was already a phone message waiting for me when I got home, but....) Tomorrow will be another early day. *sigh*

So.....

Julie - I agree! Eric appears to miss his daily dose of glitter.

Eric - Very cool about the Masters swimming! I wish there was a group like that around here.... I'm sorry that I haven't had time to post any glitter. I can tell that you miss it. LOL

Emerson - Sounds like you have a swim planned for tomorrow! I'll be checking the Wet and Wild thread to see the results!

Pam - I am not an early morning motivated person! I'm not a morning person at all! In fact, I need to have everything "ready" in the morning, so I can put myself on autopilot and get to work. (The last few mornings, I've had to be in early, but that doesn't mean I have to LIKE it! LOL)

And now, back by popular demand...... Yes, we have GLITTER:

Awww...Dee, the glitter made my day!  Thank you!!  At least you got your yardage in.  Hang tight!  But I am the same way.  Dragging my butt out of bed is horrible and I don't like it.  And that is why I don't schedule early classes if I don't have to.  Otherwise I want to sleep through them

Hey All, Sorry about the gap in the posts. A friend has a cabin that he wasn't using this past weekend so I took the family for a little R&R. Didn't get back till late Monday. I really appreciate everyone checking in on me and all of the kind words. I'll catch up with everyone's logs on Weds. We need to bump up the posts, I thought I was in the wrong place when I couldn't find us there for a moment. Have a great Weds!!!
Oh and yes Dee, I did miss the glitter!!!! Chris

Good Morning, All

I am in for another naptime treadmill run today. It takes quite a bit of skill to nap and keep a 10 min/mile pace! This is normally a day where I get to run outside, but most of you know how the fire department LOVES their classes!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Have to admit that I'm still not a big glitter fan but yes, Dee, it does make me smile when I see it!

Isn't it sad that we are so competitive that we want to be at the top of the list and have the most posts?  Sad...but that's what makes us tick....Got no sleep last night at work and only got to go home for about 2.5 hrs before I had to go to a meeting.

Last year, I met a bunch of people from Charlotte on BT and we ended up starting our own Tri club focused on beginners.  Somehow, I got suckered into being president.  I'm working on putting together a transition clinic for March that will take place before our first local race.  That's keeping me as busy if not more so than work.

May have done too much yesterday...I'm a little sore now...plus I ran out of time and didn't stretch well. I've been getting slack about that lately.  Maybe a run this afternoon?  I need to ride too but don't see it happening. I hate the exercise bike and my knees are stiff from riding one yesterday

Work isn't just interfering with my workouts, it's interfering with my BT time, as well!

This is just NOT acceptable. How can I increase my post count discuss my training with my BT friends when I must work so many hours? After all, it's ALL about getting more colorful STARS discussing my training with everyone.

I think January is going to be like this. Hopefully, things will settle down (at least a bit) in a few weeks. (I did say "hopefully," right? I'll continue to be optimistic about that. LOL)

And for those of you who HAVE been getting workouts in, this is for YOU:

Oh, my goodness! Page two!

Today was supposed to be one of my rockstar hit the gym, spin and swim days. But, alas, I have to many errands to run. It is much easier to grocery shop while the kiddos are in preschool. My tummy is not feeling it either. Maybe I will get a run in during naptime.

I hope everyone is well!

Hope you feel better Amy....I'm off to masters swim shortly.  This masters class is screwing up my old schedule. I used to swim/run MWF and ride T/Th/Sat.  I'm still trying to get used to mixing up my days.
