Extreme Veteran 863 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED rizer22 - 2012-12-10 10:47 PM So my recovery ride was a wheelchair today, not a bicycle. Had my Nerve Decompression surgery in left knee, or near the fibular head this morning. Problem with nerve decompression is you can't scope them. The entire nerve has to be exposed for the doctor. 4-5 inch gash on the outside of the knee. The good news is only about 6 weeks of PT, and after 3 weeks i may be able to get in the pool with a pull buoy. So cheers to 2013. It's been a long 15 months. As of right now, I'm hoping for Timberman 70.3 in New Hampshire in August. Congrats to everyone for all their accomplishments in 2012!!!! Jeff - I hope you have a fast recovery!!! And that 2013 is a much better tri year for you! |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED Good luck with recovery! I hope all goes well and you can do Timberman ... I just did the first part of the course last night and that is one hilly son-of-a-gun! Testing right now is just to determine where everyone is at to dtermine what kind of schedules to put together. |

Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED I just haven't been feeling well the last couple months. After several rounds of blood work and multiple doctor appointments, it turns out I have to see a gastro guy and get a colonoscopy. If I have Crohn's, Celiac disease, or Colitis, well...that sucks (multiple family members have these diseases). If I have to cut a bunch of vegetables out of my diet because of this, well...I am going to lose it. I have had a love affair with vegetables since I was a kid. I probably eat more vegetable in one day than the normal person eats in 1 week. Seriously. I pray this isn't the case. |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED Jeff (rizer) - glad you're on the road to recovery. I know 2013 will be a great year for you! Jen - let us know how further tests go. That would be a bummer, I understand the love for veggies thing. I'm doing no testing at the moment. I don't ever remember doing a swim test. Just the awful bike & run tests. Not fun. So I had a formal interview today for the position I've applied for. It went very well, better than I expected. I may be flying out to So Cal next week to meet some of the folks I could potentially be supporting. I feel ill.....so torn over what to do. In other news, the head guy at my office (that was making things very difficult around here) was let go "to pursue other opportunities" this morning. Wow! |

Like Jeff said, I am sure you'll just know what's right for you when the time comes to make a decision. Btw, is your ultra this weekend? Why yes it is! I've got so much on my mind right now I have not been stressing too much about it. It'll be a good solid chunk of time that I can zone out (but still watch for roots & blaze marks) and think about things. We are heading up Friday after work, race is Saturday morning, then staying in historic Charleston on Saturday night. Should be a fun weekend. |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED Moving for sure. Location still not determined, but is looking more like So Cal. Very $$$ so I'm cautious, I've been down that road before. Loved living there, but position was eliminated just short of 2 years after we relocated, so we came back to Atlanta. |

I figured I'd meet with the gastro specialist first and see what she has to say. I eat multiple cruciferous vegetables every day, so those would be hard to eliminate (I would if I really need to for my health though). All of the tests and blood work show that I have liver damage, so my GP's first guess is GI. We'll see how it goes. They couldn't get me in until mid-Jan. |

Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED On a positive note, I got an email today saying that I qualified for AG Nats again this year. Second year I won't be able to do it!!!! I would really like to race it one time. If $$ is too big a factor and we can't afford IMMT, then I'm going to register for it. The new location is closer to Cleveland! |
