all very good points on the depth of the squad, I have to admit to being a little concerned at that very aspect last year as well, although I have to also say I have my moments of blind faith in our Rafa, he most certainly will have in mind the effect loosing Xabi will have on each aspect of the game, on pitch and off pitch.  I really doubt he will allow us to go forward short squadded, he has enough experience now of the demands of european football on top of the EPL.  I have to believe he will take us forwards from last year and not allow us to stall.

I also worry about team chemistry.  That's a lot of people that appeared to be gelling quite well to get rid of.

Ouch!  it's not a good day.  It was going to happen, but it still sucks!  Let's see who we get in his place, Silva? Aquilani?

Have just checked the LFC site and they have confirmed they have agreed the deal for Aquilani.  Not too bad, let's see how he fits.

Huh.  I was kind of hoping for Silva.  He and FT seemed to have quite a connection during the Euro Cup.

I missed that one but I'm excited for him.  I too hope he gets a chance because if he does, I have a good feeling that he will succeed.

DAGNABIT!  Chicago lost in the Super Liga final last night in PK's.  Mainly because two of our guys tried to slam it into the net and missed the damn thing completely.

One was essentially a rookie (second year in reality) and the other was Justin Mapp.  HE SHOULD KNOW BETTER!  UGH!  Another shot at hardware down the tubes.  DAMNIT!

US V Mexico IN Azteca on Wednesday night.  Any predictions?  Could this be the year they break the winless streak or will we be disappointed yet again.

Also, in the Charity Shield, what if the winner of the two cups the previous year are one in the same (as was almost the case with Man U), I'm assuming another team is chosen, but how?

If the FA Cup and the Premier league are won by the same team, the Community shield (charity cup) will be played by that team and the runners up in the premier league.  The FA have a clause that they may choose another team, but that isn't likely.  the rules state premier league runners up.

I got the ussoccer.com email yesterday that mun2 will be unlocked in most markets today for the game, but despite their website claiming that it is available to me through my cable provider, it is not. I guess I will have to try to follow it online. Is it finally time for the US to win in Mexico?

Gamecast on ESPN is about the only way I'll be able to get away with it here at work and still get work done without ticking off my boss.

As much of a war as this match has been in the past, this one is bigger.  If the US happens to win, I predict a riot at Azteca and it won't be pretty.

Rarified atmosphere...ball flies further, faster...Bocanegra needs to close the space down...20 yards out with a free shot is too easy

It reads as if they were already trying to bunker after the goal.  way to early for that crap.  Will cost us the game if we do.
