I am still here, just haven't had much to add.

I finally went to a Podiatrist on Monday to get my foot checked up. I have been in a quite a bit of pain. Basically, the weird messed up shape of my foot has been causing the pain, and there is not really much they can do about it other than physical therapy and may be a special kind of sole I can put in my shoes. So, I am trying to put least amount of pressure that I can on my foot.

I have a 5K on the 15th, so can't really completely stay off it. Will take break from running this week. Instead I will get on the elliptical and get at least the times in that way.

Hopefully this week of non-running will let my foot heal a little bit so I can start running again next week.

Other than that, my swimming is going good. Bike is going terrible.

I'm so sorry I've been out of touch. Life has hit me hard and I barely have time to work out, nevermind log the workouts. I've chickened out of Lonestar - I'm going to do the sprint since until this weekend my longest rides have been topping out at 23 miles and longest runs at 6 . I just don't feel it's a good idea to push that far without training, so it's the sprint for me.

Steve - I love the helmets, those are so fun!

Lina - check out the book "Pain Free". I am in the middle of reading it and I've heard people have had great results with his system. He described exactly what was going on with my feet. I haven't tried the recommended workouts yet, but I plan to. The other thing I've been doing is doing one run a week in the water instead of on land. I had to do all my runs in the water when I was marathon training and was told no pressure on my feet for at least a week. You won't get your heart rate as high, but it works the muscles more and I feel stronger when running on land since doing the aqua jogging regularly. Run the amount of time you had planned to on land, not the distance. So as an easy example: if you have a 3 mile run on your schedule and you normally run 10 minute miles, you would do 30 minutes aqua jogging.

Hope everone's doing well!

Erin - I'll have to check out the book you mention. I have not done any running this week. Last Saturday went for a long walk around the block which turned out to be 4.63 miles. Needless to say, I was pretty much on the couch entire Sunday. So ended up having to take this whole week off. The only thing I have kept up with is swimming. Given both the bike and run a break. I have a 5K this Satuday which I will be doing. Will have to walk/jog through the entire 5K.

I'm in for the Redman Half too! It sounds like a good course for me - hilly bike course with a flat run. I HATE running hills - it kills my knees. But, I get bored on a flat bike course, so I'm really excited about this race

Erin, I don't think there are any hills to speak of on the Redmna course.  The worst part is supposedly the wind.

I'm going to pretend I didn't read that - I HATE wind. The description says rolling hills, I hope there are some.

It has been quiet in here! I've been good. Swamped at work and our new building doesn't allow for much BT time so I've been quiet I'm getting nervous about Lonestar, I haven't done anything to prepare, until this week I've been in base-building mode and haven't even thought about a brick, so next weekend will be interesting to say the least. At least I am doing the sprint and not the quarter. This way I'm just nervous but not in full-on freakout mode

Wow. I am gone for a few weeks, and everything looks different over here. Looks like BT upgraded to .NET. Looks nice.
I have been off for some time now. My 5K in March really did a number on my foot, so had to stop training for a little bit. Then my husband had a minor surgery so was busy taking care of him. I am trying to get back in the swing of things now, but its been hard. I still have to stay off my foot for at least a couple of months.
Currently have just been swimming and then walking in the pool for 15-20 minutes after swim.
