Hmmmm, not really sure what happened here but I have been doing a bit more weight lifting...I am not sure and would take some insight on the whole idea of gaining weight when lifting more weights or doing more pushups/situps. Sometimes i buy it and sometimes I don't. I have had closer to 1600 or 1700 calories instead of 1500 but I don't see that changing the weight that much (I have been standing out in 35 degree weather for a few hours a day so i kind of thought that might even out from the shivering!). I was hoping to see 148 on the scale this morning...

Woo-hoo!!!! I don't think it's a fluke either, I've been within half a pound of this since Saturday No idea what happened or why it suddenly dropped, but I'm definitely not complaining.

Had a good week and its paid off with a further drop. Really hoping that being off work until Christmas now will mean I have the chance to work extra hard to get the last 3 lbs off to my goal weight. Fingers crossed...

Su-Weet!!  I am happy to say that I finally got my butt back on track.  I'm still struggling a bit with my workouts but they are getting done through forced motivation.  Tomorrow is my finals so once that is over, I will sit down, figure out next years race schedule, and thus, find a plan to jump into!  However, I finally found the "golden ticket" as far as my nutrition goes.  I finally fine tuned it all enough and figured out what my body responds best to.  Needless to say, I plan on sticking to what I've been doing this past week and see where it takes me!

I owe a big thanks to several of you for the kick in the arse I requested!!!

Thank you!  I don't expect to see results like this next week but I DO expect to keep seeing results!
As for what I did...First off, I finally found my magic caloric intake number which is something I've been tweaking for a few weeks as I either wasn't losing or was starving all the time.  Also, this past week I figured out my ratios have been off.  Actually, I'll admit that I wasn't really paying a whole lot of attention to them but I was adamant about tracking them this past week and Voila!  There it was!!  Amazing how something so simple makes such a difference!  Needless to say, between the two, I'd say I finally have it figured out ~ for now!

thats interesting.

How do you actually track your calories? I cant imagine how I could possibly accurately track my intake. I guess I can weigh meat and veg in main meals but many of my meals involve lots of ingredients, I cant find any calorie info for the food involved or dishes are shared between several people so I have no idea how much I'm getting... Great you can make it work though.

Started weight training yesterday as the first step in an intensive 3 month programme aimed at building some upper body muscle. I'm hoping it stays about 'weight-neutral' so any increase in muscle offsets the additional fat I'm losing as a result. We'll see...

I hear ya, Damon!  Luckily, I don't do many dishes that involve much more than an ingredient or two.  I track my calories here on BT and use a worksheet from mypyramid.org to track my ratios as I need to see exactly where I am for each meal/snack and I can't do that with BT!  When it comes to meals that do involve multiple ingredients, well, I guess!  I've heard people mention that there are sites out there where you can put in all the ingredients and it will spell it out for you but I've yet to find one that you don't have to pay for!

I guess I'm just not that organised..... I just tend to go by portion size, and as I'm eating low GI it means I have really cut down on stuff like rice, pasta, potatoes etc where the high calories per oz mean careful portion control is needed. A plate full of steamed veg doesnt really vary much in calories, regardless of what type of veg I have on there I guess. I also really dont know how many calories I'm burning, so just eat a little more on longer/harder days!

Seems to be working so far. Got down to 176.5lbs the last weigh in, so only 1.5 more until my Xmas goal is achieved. Feeling confident again!

That is awesome that you are so close!!  You are totally going to make your goal and even exceed it!
Like you said, what matters is what works for you.  I find that when I'm not that "organized" I tend to eat a lot more than I should and this all helps me see what is working and what isn't!

On a completely unrelated note...I am happy to say that my class is over and I got an "A."  I am thrilled as I busted my butt in this class.  Now I actually have some free time ~ at least until January!

I have been doing everything right during the week but it gets cancelled on the weekends. I am not going to stress about it too much. I am signing up for a half marathon in march though! I am very excited about this!

takes an extra 20 minutes each way now with holiday shopping. Good news is I havent had any candy, cookies, chocolate etc, so if I decide to it will be guilt free and minimal!

Up, but I think it's water. I ate badly Sunday and yesterday and have just felt bloated this week. A big lunch yesterday didn't help either. At least I'm still lower then I have been in years I know 4-5 pounds doesn't seem like a lot, but it shows on a small frame - people keep telling me I look so much thinner. The best compliment I received was last week - I was chatting with a friend by my car and she said "I'm sorry, I just can't stop staring at your arms - they look incredible!". So, this challenge has definitely has definitely been a great Christmas gift for me

Tuesday will be my final weigh-in before Christmas due to traveling, so that should help keep me honest this weekend. One Christmas party to go to and the in-laws are in town, so I need all the motivation not to binge on chocolate that I can get!

This one is free but I think you have to give them your email address. I've only used it once so I can't say how much I like it.

And, congrats on the A Michelle! Great job

You've done awesome, Stuart!  To say that you haven't had one cookie or anything?  That is much more than most of us ~ I made the decision to bake to day and let's just say, I normally DO NOT bake because of all the cookie dough I wind up eating!

This one is free but I think you have to give them your email address. I've only used it once so I can't say how much I like it. And, congrats on the A Michelle! Great job

I just took a short look at it and will have to play with it a bit more to see how it works but thanks a ton!!
