ceilidh - 2009-10-10 9:31 AM Morning all
Here are my notes to all from yesterday- you know who you are:
Great B day run, dinner and drink !
At least you are spreading glee with your hair.. I hate that for you and hope you can fix it. word to the wise: DONT Let THAT CHICK TOUCH YOUR HAIR AGAIN.
Your 11 miler will be great. Can you get a running bottle to put on your fuel belt?
Hope the post Mary run will be good
Way to go on the 18 miles
Kim, take care of that head. go to the dr if the dizziness doesn't go away.
Glad the grumpies are better..

did I leave anyone out? Sorryi

i got the fuel belt w/out the bottles - its enough for me to wear the belt to begin w.  i HATE having stuff on me....im wearing it out of necessity esp come race day, i cant 'risk' using wha tthe offer on the course, Gus and Gels cause MAJOR distress.

the belt w the loopies is about all i can tolerate to have on my person...

come race day, they'll have water and gatorade on the course, every mile 2-11.  ill just do that for hydration/electrolyte replacement, and then 'carry in' all my other nutrition.

today, i just used my old water bottle/belt that sits on my back.  it worked well, for todays run.

thanks for the suggestion.

skrtrnr - 2009-10-10 2:42 PM AFTERNOON GHOULIES.

'braved' a SERIOUS ATTITUDE PROBLEM and got my 11 miler in!  WOOT!

i missin' my Tri training something fierce.  im grumpy as all get out when im run-focused.

Tris, another one of my happy places.

running the trail today helped.  but it took EVERYTHING to get my arse out the door this morning -what im MOST grateful for is this challenge team, because you have/did motivate me in ways that enabled me to get my run done today.

so my 11 miles, TO YOU/FOR YOU!  thank you.

watching live coverage of KONA as i type.  woosh.  incredible!

watched a guy coming out the water, missing the cut-off by 12 seconds.  OH THE AGONY....

enjoying a quiet afternoon at home. pumpkins purchased w the kids!

TACOS for dinner.  Meatloaf and sweet potatoes tomorrow.

RUN HAPPY!

PS GO CHRISSY!!!

Great job, Stacie, getting that 11-miler in the books.

Watching that guy miss the cut was so heartbreaking.  Poor guy

POOR GUY.  did you hear the 'backstory' on this guy.

4x cancer survivor.

shoulder replacement.

heart transplant recipient (3 yrs ago)

and missed the cut off by EIGHT SECONDS....

but an AMAZING attitude.  he's just happy to be alive.

incredible.

Hey Guys! I survived Neonathon! Hahahaha! It was pretty epic!

I woke up at 10 this morning and lazed around for a bit. I did a short trainer ride and some core work! Now I am chilling and watching my friend study while doing random things on the internet! Ya long weekend!

Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend.  Heading out for dinner...new Thai restaurant in town.  Yum. Even better, it is byob....would much rather bring the wine.  Tomorrow morning I'm volunteering at a race that is a great fund raiser for the Visiting Nurse 'n Adult Day Care Center...I get to be split timer this year. One of these years I'll probably be a resident.  It's a great cause, which makes it all the more fun.   Playing soccer in the afternoon and will be checking in on Kona in between.

It was great to watch the online coverage of Kona today - right up until the feed cut out right before Chrissie went down the chute! Grr... I got the signal back just in time for her interview after setting the WR. That was really cool to watch.

The men's race was incredible today too. Chris really showed some phenomenal improvement holding off Craig until mile 20 or so. The highlight show should be really good this year.

REMINDER:

Please update the spreadsheet with your current progress by Sunday evening, 7 PM EDT. I'll be doing a challenge update then.

If you are sick or injured but want to continue in the challenge:
Here is the procedure for adjusting your goal:

(Original goal) x (31 - Days missed) / 31 = Revised goal

this is the same as:

(Original goal) x (Days during the month that you COULD participate) / 31 = Revised goal

For example:
Your original goal is 50 miles. But you miss 5 days due to illness/injury. Your revised goal becomes:

(50 miles original) x (31 - 5 days missed) / 31 = 42 miles revised goal
(50 miles original) x (26 days that you COULD participate) / 31 = 42 miles revised goal

If you need to revise your goal but are unsure of how to change it, please contact your Team Captain or me.
