so much for global warming!   Yall've (yes, that is a word in Texas!) gotten several snow days this year up there right?  We had some flurries down here back in Nov/Dec but that was about it.

We never really have harsh winters out here, but this year it has been very warm here, unfortunate timing with the Winter Olympics starting this weekend.  They have had to truck in snow to one of the event venues from other mountains, just to build the runs.

I've been playing with the kiddos in the snow for the last few days.  Not much BT time.  How are things going?  Here the snow is melting - it's in the 40's today and maybe the 50's tomorrow.  The tri-club canceled swim on Friday morning due to ice/snow and I really missed it.

Kinda been around.  I was snowed in on Wednesday alone with the kids so not much Internet time.  I was also out of  my office a lot last week.  Hoping to stay in a lot this week!  Second week of the month is always busy out of the office for me.

Woke up early this morning and got a trainer ride in!!  Logan actually slept and let me get my workout in.  The best part of the morning was my husband woke up shortly after I finished.  We were able to chill for a little bit together, watch the news, and have a cup of coffee together.  That never happens!

President's Day today.  I'm taking our Cub Scout den to drop off bags for Scouting for Food.  It's 30* and 10-15 mph wind out there.  I've got to get these boys moving quick.

Good to hear Meggan and way to get in that workout!  Have fun today with the Cubbies Ken!

I am the lone soul at work today.  I don't mind it at all as I can get some good work done.  Brought my running clothes and will go for a long run after work.

Aquathon was amazing yesterday! I had a great time! I did better than goal on the swim. I am not sure about the time on the run. I forgot to look at my watch. Transition was very slow because I was not trying to hurry. It was very cold but I dressed fine. It was my first time with my swim gear to run gear. I had capris from Desoto and they worked great. I wouldn't change anything about what I did (except look at my watch at start) or what I wore. I would charge my Ipod, kinda a bummer but not a big deal. I was faster on the run than I expected I think. I felt great during it. I had to walk on the ice but I really think if the path was clear I would have run(ok slogged) the entire way, I felt that good. I will be doing the next one in the beginning of March. I love this even more than I did before!

Great job Shauna!  Any time you can finish one race and are pumped and ready to do the next one...is a great race!  In my town we've got something similar called the Splash 'n Dash that they do every month starting in April.  I am going to be signing up for a few as well.  Continued success!!

I managed to get caught up in Olympic fever this past weekend, watched a lot more than I thought I would, but it's hard not to get caught up in these bright young athletes going for gold.  We plan on taking in the Olympic sites next weekend.

And then to watch the premier of the Amazing Race to see a 71 year old Grandmother who does Tri's...that is the kind of senior I aspire to be.

All this and a good run yesterday, sent my blahs of last week away and I am ready for a good week!

They called this a Splash and Dash too. I think they have them every winter Jan-Mar or April. It will keep me having goals over the winter months too!

Good job!!  That is great that you had fun and can't wait for the next one!  I should see if there is anything like that by me.  This is a tough time of the year though.

Awesome!  You registered.  You trained.  You showed up at the start AND you finished!  Great accomplishments.

Lately, running.  Swimming bores me to tears!  I swam so much that it seems like a chore!  Running has been the only thing, short of meds, that has gotten me through the PPD the last 20 months since having Logan!

Right now I am going to have to say running.  First because I'm doing it outdoors and second because since joining the 1/2 marathon clinic, running has become far more social.  I used to run by myself, and thought I pushed myself, but looking back, not so much. Running with others of similar fitness level is most enjoyable.

Been a little swamped at work lately.

I thought this would be an easy question, but found out it was a little complicated for me.  Right now I am really in a good running groove and enjoying it.  But last summer (and when it is 105 degrees here) I was doing really well in my swimming and was looking forward to every pool workout.  And when it is warm out, I love getting out and hammering it on the bike with my local bike group.

Is that weird not to have one favorite?  I enjoy them all (some more than others at times) and I guess is one of the reason's I love triathlon so much!

PS - Brought the new bike to work today and gonna take her for her first outdoor ride after work!  And I broke the coveted 210 weight mark today with my low mark of the year of 209.5!!

Not weird at all not to have a favorite.  I thought I would answer swimming as I've made the biggest gains in it, but the more I thought, the more it changed.  I'd have to say it's the workout I just finished.  I love the since of accomplishment and the mental clarity that comes with the training.

Awesome job on the weight, Chi!  Keep it up!
