Happychick - 2010-03-30 6:36 PM Paul, wasn't it you that said you sometimes show up as being offline when you are actually here? I just read that sometimes is just a quirk and often times is linked to idle time. Do you often just come hang out?

Yes, I will bring up BT and have it in the background so I can take a quick peek every once in a while.  That's probably what it is.  Thanks for passing that along.

I'm trying to decide if I want to go on a road ride today or not....  My legs are a little sore from yesterday's run.  Not to mention, I could use the time to get some little things done around the house and run some errands.

Yeah...same thing with me.  I gave blood once, and normally they just take your pulse for 10 seconds and multiply it by 6...but one time this lady took my pulse for the whole minute.  I though maybe she just wanted to hold my hand longer...LOL...but she had to make sure my pulse wasn't too low.  They say if it's lower than 50, you get rejected...it ended up being right about 50...which is pretty low considering I was sitting upright, and it was already 4-5 hours into my day.

They won't take my blood at all.  Too much time in Europe.

Bill you running tubeless tires on any of your bikes?  I'm going to have my race wheels relaced.  I'm thinking of switching the hoops to UST.  I'm already riding tubeless tires with tubes in them, so I was thinking about giving it a shot.

Ouch!  Put my spare wheels on my bike and added almost 400 grams.  Should be good for training!

Crazy busy day at the pool yesterday. One pool closed for water polo and six people sharing a lane in the other pool. I kept thinking "it's good practice for a race" (thanks whoever suggested that). Almost got clobbered a couple of times by people messing around.
The wind is really bad here too (I couldn't see the mountains from about a mile away because of the dust in the air) so I went to the Olympic oval to run.  Really busy there as well but got my run in.  I am now at 105% on my swim goal and run distance goal.  I'll hit 100% on my run sessions and 105% on my bike goal tonight.  It'll be a wet ride in the snow but I don't think Bill will let me use that as an excuse. It'll be a pretty run in the snow though, although I am hoping this will be the last run in the snow until the fall.

Good thing we are so far ahead in the post count.  You could have easily split that into two posts.

Tim - you are a mind reader!!  I don't but was going to ask you about them.  I am thinking of having my snow bike tires rebuilt and was contemplating the switch with those.

Do you know how they work in cold weather?

What would you recommend as a 26" rim for the switch?

I was looking at the Stan's Alpine @ 330 grams or the Stan's 355 @ 360 grams.  Obviously, I'm going with an ultralite hoop for racing only.  With a UST tire and hoop, there should be no adverse effect from weather.  However, if using a sealant to convert a normal tire or hoop into a UST system, then weather could play a roll.

So I would google UST tire and hoop to find a rim for me - I don't need to go light I just want to experiment with winter conditions first   And since I am rebuilding now is a good time right?

Yes.  Usually the wheels will say UST or some form of tubeless system.  Tires might be marked as UST, tubeless, tube-lite, 2bliss, etc.  Each manufacturer has its own gimmick.

The thing that I think is kind of stupid is I was there way before the mad cow scare.

Today's the last day of March!  Whether we win or lose, congratulations TWISTERS.  We all seem to have had good months and I appreciate the push you guys have provided me.

I've got a short 5 mile run at lunch to get me up to 90% of my run goal, which should put me at an even 100% overall.

Hope to see you guys in the April challenge.  If we get put on separate teams, I'll be sure to drop in the other thread from time to time to check up on you folks...Wink
