For me today is run run run. I need to start serious hill work. My next race is up hill the entire 5 miles on an average grade of 6%.

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-15 8:41 AM Well I need an update peeps

I am back at work today and my stress level is just out of this world right now!  I feel like I could explode and would be quite good with that at 8:30 this morning!!!!!!

Thank God I do not drink because I would be sick as a dog tomorrow - LOL

Any other words of wisdom besides finding someone and beating the crap out of them for medicinal purposes - should have used the heavy bag this morning - LOL

Breath in.... breathe out.. repeat.

Definitely been there and felt that.  Short of smashing a co-worker in the face, you could push some people around on public transportation, yell at some kids for playing on your lawn or, according to this group, kick a cat.

Short of doing any of those things, I guess you'll just have to tough it out and get some good long exercise in tonight.  Hang in there!

Bill - Sorry you are having a rough day. You can try walking around with a really grumpy look on your face that says "stay away". Sometimes that works for me ;-).Robin - That sounds like a really tough run. I run in flat Illinois so it would kill me.Great news here. I was able to cancel my business trip to Brazil next week. Brazil is a fun place once you get there but the travel time is very long, I would have given up two weekends, and I haven't found a place to bike or swim when I'm there.

BRAZIL!! That is on my bucket list. It would be cool to have work pay for it. Too bad my gov'm'nt job won't. Glad you get your weekends back.

And, that run will probably kill me too but I have no choice I have a dare going. It is at the Scottish highland games, dares are taken very seriously!

TT went great last night, hoping for 18mph avg, ended the night at 20.4.  All  the sexy bikes was awesome to drool over.  Shop owner that runs the series was on a Felt DA with zipps  mmmmmmm.   First time a Zipp wheeled bike passed me, I thought it was a car coming.  A fellow co-worker did it as well, him & I were the only two ppl there with leg(probably body) hair.  Hope to start doing them every wed night, end of may they also offer a 40k(20K last night)

hope you're not prone to road rage ...just think of how well you'll be able to channel that angst into one helluva workout later.

hope it's not a typical work day for you...and that the day doesn't totally suck.....

It is always weird how when you pass/get passed by someone of the same sex, whoosh right by. Getting/passing someone of the opposite sex, no matter how much of a speed change it might take a little longer heheh

Another brick in the wall tonight.  Definitely getting easier.  ANy ideas how to keep my toes from falling asleep on the bike?  I've read moving the cleats back helps but I haven't tried that yet.  FWIW I use spd cleats and my mtb shoes with my road bike.  Any compelling reason to switch to road shoes my first year in tri's?  After a wetsuit, road bike, lots of clothes, HRM, USAT membership, and a few race fees, I was trying to save a couple bucks if I could.

Sweet, Ann, Thanks.

No race for me this weekend. Except the race to get all that spring house and yard work done. Hopefully some biking will occur this weekend. We will see.

Good morning all! I am debating weather to run a 5k or10k this Sat. really do not want to injure my knee-so am planning to run the race like a regular training run, maybe even a little slower. i haven't done the 10K yet-leaning more in that direction. My husband and a bunch of my friends are doing the 5k. The temptation to go too fast would be great in the 5k. Last year, just starting out (with God's help) i medaled in quite a few 5k's. makes racing very rewarding and addictive! i do not think it would be worth it. Plus there is a 9 mile trail run on May 1 want to do.Nichi

I don't care for 5k's. It takes me 3 miles to get warmed up. They are too short and too fast.

Do the 10k and then rub it into your husband that he ran the short race.

I really like the table, though the background could use some work...at least from my male perspective.

I'm not certain what the differences are between the shoes but, unless you are really going for a podium spot, I think using the mountain bike shoes should be fine.  Maybe one of the more experiences folks will chime in (please!) if I am wrong.

I know I am quoting myself here, so apologies, but could we also get the Ghoulies who are mentoring listed too?  We all want to harass you in addition to each other!  Money mouth
