Unfortunately I will not be able to make it.  That's the first day of ragbrai.  I'll need to rely on ghoulie texts to keep me updated throughout the day

I guess that is fair since I won't be able to make it to Wisconsin in Sept Haha.

So far just my Mom I think. Maybe a friend who is in Ottawa--she just got back from Australia so its debateable if she will be there or if she will be somewhere else in Canada. I think a few other BTers are coming down for the weekend too from Montreal, but I don't really know them that well.

It is already hot today so I am going to ride then get out and do a tiny bit of yard work before retreating to the semi cool of the house.

Hey Neal! I hope you're been well. Whatever happens Sunday, just have a good time. I know that race is also on the schedule of Chrissie Wellington. If she hands you your finishing medal try and get a picture!

No splashy yesterday, but I think we should be able to go today. Saturdays are nice like that. If I can get out in the next helf hour or so I'm going to try and sneak in a short bike ride before Ruby's obedience class.

Sounds like a smart plan. You DEFINITELY want to have your own bike for that race!

Good job getting the bike in! Does the whole family get in on the obedience classes? It is a good idea so that everyone knows (including Ruby) what is expected.

Morning Ghoulies. Happy Sunday. Just a quick pop by while I wake up and figure out what to do today. I am starting slow today

Just had some food and now it is time to get ready to ride again. ughhhhhhh. Looks like a new dance party....

Good moring Ghoulies!

This weekend has been a mixed bag of good and bad.

First the good - Yesterday morning my husband, son, and I got to go kayaking. It was the first time kayaking for my son, but he has been in a canoe several times. My daughter has always been my water baby, but my son was very at ease in the kayak. It made me smile to see him skimming along while dragging his fingertips in the water. I knew he wasn't afraid. So my "doesn't like to try new things" son did 2 new things this week.

Now the bad - We were less than a mile from home and my niece called, my daughter stayed at her house while we kayaked. She said that my daughter was running a temperature of 102.4. We picked her up and got her home and I spent the rest of the day in my bed with her. She is feeling better now, still a temp, but not near as high as it was yesterday.

More of the bad - Last evening my sister called me in tears. Her husband is in the Navy, and they are scheduled to move to Hawaii in October. The homeowner of the house they are living in called them and told them that she would be by on Monday to give them the paperwork, that they had 30 days to get out of the house. The homeowners had lived in Kentucky for the past 14 years, but they are moving back into the area and they want their house. Now my sister and her family will have to try to find someplace to live for 3 months before they move to Hawaii, and they will have to pay to move all of their stuff out of their current house. This is the third time my sister has dealt with housing issues since she has been a Navy wife. It is very frustrating and upsetting for her, as I'm sure you could understand.

That's pretty much been my weekend. Hope everyone else's was better.
