In Chi-town you see it all.   And know the people that are in fashion season after season, spend a small fortune to have "the look".

Me, I just like a well tailored suit and bikini....those are always in style to me!

We ALL appreciate you in a suit but if we had a choice...Bikini all the way.  You make it all look good.

Troy, you know if I could wake everyday and put on a bikini, I would!!!

Hopefully when buy a big boat and docking slip in St John's this can happen.

We have the Hofbrauhaus here in Vegas and it duplicates the one in Germany.  I'm telling you, it's a unique but great time!

Smashing steins together, lederhosen, bavarian music, geman meats and LOTS of sausage. beer (of course).

Kind of a downer question for the gang.  I just got word that a good friend's wife has colon cancer and she's likely terminal.

What do you do in that instance?  Card, call, prayers, flowers?  That's all I could really think of.

She's been a marathoner and ultra-marathoner forever and she's just the nicest person.  It's very sad news.

Any advice on what you do in that instance?

do whatever you can so that your friend can spend time with his wife doing the things she wants to do.

take care of their yard, do their grocery shopping, clean their house.

just show up and do it, don't ask.  what they want/need is time to enjoy life together, this is how you give it to them.

Make yourself available to her.  Dealing with this in the past with a dear friend, it is amazing how many people/friends shut down or seemed to distance themselves.

Call, tell her you are there for what ever she needs and ask her what you can do....something to keep the routine of your relationship. And yes, NO means yes to anything you can help with!

Matt, that is terrible to hear and I am sorry.  In my opinion, the best and only thing to do is 'be there' for your friend, his wife and their family.  I will keep them in my prayers.

I think just calling to say you heard the news and your thoughts and prayers are with them and you are available to talk or listen or help if they need anything.  I'm just thinking that I would appreciate that more if it were me than cards or gifts or flowers.  But that's just me.

Also, I would just leave it short (unless they start talking about it).  No need to ask questions or get into it.  It's probably something they have been constantly thinking about and discussing with doctors, family, close friends and going over it AGAIN get's a bit tedious.  Sometime something short and sweet telling them your thoughts are with them is best and not belabor the point.
