Sorry I've been away from the board for a few days. I've been reading the posts as they get emailed to me, but haven't had much time to sit and reply.

It's great to see all the activity!

I missed my run yesterday and today due to work travel and being really tired. I have a long run coming up this weekend (2 hr 15 min) and it's going to be challenging between other commitments and more snow coming!

I bought a new bike on Saturday which I will pick up and have my fitting this Saturday. I can't wait!

Yeah, old man winter is just waking up in the inland northwest. More snow and cold in the forecast. I've been gearing up on cold weather cycling gear so I can get my bike on the road as soon as the snow and ice are gone.

What kind of bike did you get? And we need some pics too.

I bought a leftover 2013 Kestrel 4000 Pro SL 105. It's an all carbon bike, Shimano 105 drivetrain, Dura Ace shifters, upgraded carbon bars. It's brand new. They gave me a sweet deal since it was a leftover and the 2014s are out.

I'll have more pictures tomorrow once I pick it up. I bought it at the expo so they took it back to their shop and I'll do the whole fitting tomorrow. I'm super stoked to be moving into a real tri bike. Don't get me wrong, I love my Specialized road bike with aero set up, but this is going to be fun!

I am out of here for a 2 week (well, close to 2 week) vacation!!! We are going tropical to visit my step son and his fiancee in Panama. They are great adventurers so they have rock climbing, snorkling, hiking, etc all planned out for us. Good for me, they both are runners so I am packing some running stuff.

Have fun and keep up the good work everyone.

Getting back on track.  This week and next week I am devoted to dialing in my schedule - 4 runs, 3 bikes, 3 swims.  Since Monday:  4 runs, 2 bikes, 3 swims.

The only expectation I have for running or biking is to make the schedule and do a workout (2 mile run, 45 min. trainer, etc.).  Since the schedule requires getting up at 4:45 on run days and 4:30 on bike days, I am content with staying on schedule.  Volume, speed, power, etc. will come.

Ran outside this afternoon. 37 degrees and sunny. Felt like spring (and now they're forecasting 10-14 inches of snow).

Ran 11.5 miles, 2 hr, 15 min. Felt good, felt like I could have gone further, but the wind was kicking up and I was getting really cold. 4 weeks until my 13.1.

Does your wife know you have mistress? She is so hot.

I like my tribike I just need to get fitted correctly and I figure best to lose weight first. Until then I will just ride my roadie.

Mike: That's a gorgeous bike!

Even though I only lost 1lb last week, I got all of my training in with the exception of Thurs and Sat saddle times. I hit the pool on Friday and managed to pound out 7x50yd stretches. My breathing is still improving, but I find that if I speed up to where I *want* to be, I end up trying to drown myself. I'm hoping to have enough time to do all 9x50yd stretches tomorrow, and then I can start working in longer distances. My C25K is going beautifully and I'm still feeling no pain. Even though I missed 2 saddle times last week, I managed 9.2 miles this AM. It was about 50F when I started, and the temp just crashed... By the time I got home it was 42F according to my thermometer. Also got punish-passed this AM... not fun at all.

So... I'm down to 259 this morning. With my low being 254, I figure trying to hit 253 by March 30 will by my goal.

Great progress! Keep it up!

What is "punish passed"? I've never heard that term before.

Being passed by a vehicle within the 3' the law allows, with it being avoidable. Basically punishing you for using "their" road.

I was heading back towards the house, going down a 5 lane hwy (55mph, 4 Lanes, plus turn lane) at about 5:45 this morning. Very light to non-existent traffic that early on weekends. There's a mile stretch that has no shoulders, in fact, the side of the road is curbed like they intended on putting in sidewalks. I had taken the right lane, and I heard a vehicle, saw lights behind me. It didn't feel quite right, so I juked to the right and got right on the curb just as this pickup passed me... his left wheels were on the dashed lines, and the force of the wind almost put me over the curb... That was the only motor vehicle on the road within sight at the time.

Before anyone asks... I run dual rear flashers (looking to upgrade to longer LED strips), a rear flasher on my helmet, and a bright orange safety vest with reflective strips when I am out in the dark.

So much great things going on!

Beautiful new bike, vacation planned, training goals met...

I need help guys, I am having a real problem with consistency...I had lost 95lbs but the weight is creeping back on - not consistent with healthy eating. I had been very faithful to working out but that has been dwindling too...I have 6 weeks until my first tri with an open water swim and want to meet my workouts. But want and action are two different things...

And I have a big fear of gaining all that weight back...

Donna

Find that inner fire Donna, you know you can do it, you know you want it, now go get it. Get any crap food out of the house, if it's there you'll eat it, trust me! You have the tools, knowledge, desire and now the support, what do you need? IM your cell, I'll text you daily for encouragement and help make you accountable goods and bads, happy to do it and I know how helpful that can be. Find that inner monologue, tell yourself you can do it, tell your self you will do, when you mind says no shout back yes! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!

Donna,

You can do this! You have the will and the desire! If you didn't, you wouldn't even be on this board. Peter has great advice, get the junk food out of the house, remove the temptations. One of the tools I use is to log everything. I log my good and my exercise. It's the system I use to keep myself honest.

Please PM if you want, we're all here fir you and together we will all reach new heights.
