I remember the good old days when y'all would post post post about everything.  Now I don't think any of you still exist.  Let me start.
Started my HIM training Monday, 1000 open water swim followed by a 5k, rode 1:40 minutes on Tuesday, swam 10X 100 splits in the pool Wednesday and ran 5.85 miles in the unbelievable heat this afternoon, 100 degrees!  It was horrible, but, I am back.

Billy - nice job starting it back up!

Playing single dad this week while DW is in Kentucky.  Have been doing short swims, no running, and lots of short rides.  Planning on running tonight to see if the knee is ready for action.

Okay, everyone start posting or I am going to break out the naked baby pictures of LRR.  You don't want me to do that!  LOL!  Where is everyone?  Me, I am sitting in front of my computer (Where the heck else would I be?).

Rode today, 30 miles at easy pace as it rained overnight and the roads were a bit wet at first.  But with the drought it quickly dried.  Even though I went easier my avg pace wasn't far off my usual.  Maybe there is hope for me afterall.  My wife is out of town until tomorrow so playing single dad.  Still loving the aero cover and eventually need to put the other latex tube on.

Crazy first week of vacation. I was more busy getting the 6months of neglected things done before friends get here today. Swim this week has been off and so has the bike but runs have been great.

How many calories do you consume during 60-70mile rides? Today was the first time I felt tired and I have been doing the same intake. gue every 45 min. and gatorade and water. Funny thing was the run was good after the bike.

Hold on to those photos!!!!

Did Wildflower in the first week of May and just today signed up for a 4 race triathlon series over the summer.  One tri a month from June to September.  The first three are sprints and the last one is a Oly.

Been running and biking a lot, but I need to get back in the water.  Thats it for now.

Woo hoo!  Todays triathlon was so much fun.  First Sprint of the year was simply fantastic.  It was a PR but best of all I had a great run.  I averaged 20+ mph on the bike but a 8:19 ave pace on the run.  OMG it was perfect.  I always pass peeps on the bike, but today I passed at least 30 on the run.

The water was freaky cold.  57 degrees.  during warmup the cold water was painful.  I got out and while I was waiting for my wave to start I took some of the bag balm on my feet and rubbed it on my face.  The next five minutes I was busy trying to get the sand off my face. ha ha ha.  but you know what, when I hit the water I felt strong.  The balm filled my pores.  No worries about the cold.  Counting strokes, every ten head up to check nav. Then back to power stroking.  I had a blast.  Swam all the way into very shallow water, then popped up running.  Plenty of time to get the suit off.  T1 was 350 yards from the beach.

Good t1, suit off helmet on, shoes on and off to the races.  Some where I knocked the elbow pad off my areo bars.  I also forgot to turn on my bike garmin.  this prevented me from seeing the power meter readings.  so I rode be RPE.  Easy but with good form.  Averaged a shocking 20.5 mph on the bike.  That was riding easy, damm.  Lots of technical corners riding through cones and flashing red and blue lights of the police doing traffic control.  Great course.  I know this road and can really let it fly on the descents.  Cooking on the down low.  Came back into T2 in a ultra easy gear spinning to get the blood flowing in the feet.  Does everyone else have sleepy feet getting off the bike?

My rack was empty as I ran in with my bike.  Very quick transition.  running without socks today.  Speed laces and I finished getting dressed running through the Transition zone.  After getting my running shoes on, I grabbed all my stuff and ran.   Ran while I put my hat on, ran while I put my number belt on, ran eating a gel, ran stuffing the empty gel wrapper in my tri-shorts. oops thats not a good Idea.  ran while I fished out the wrapper and put it in my race jersey pocket. Much better now thank you.  Good negative splits, 9:00, 8:30, 8:00, 7:30, passing everything in sight.  This was without a doubt my best run ever.  finished with an 8:19ave pace for the 5k.  Ran 9min pace while I waited for my feet to return to normal.  Then decide to run it.  Could have ran faster earlier but the spilt turned out good for me.

I forgot to tell you my sprint time - 1:19:57 PR - is that cool or what
Cheers.

I ran today, early in the morning before church.  5.85 miles in 46 minutes and change.  Not great but it is hot hot hot in south Mississippi.  It will get better and better.  3500 meter swim this afternoon.

Great race report Fit, wish I could do that!

Amy - you didn't invite me!!  Have fun!

Billy - These days just getting out there is a win

Ran yesterday in the heat but lucked out as a storm came thru so I was running in the rain and loving it.  Trainer ride tonight.  Upstairs A/C is dead (been dead for awhile) and finally getting it replaced.  $4K down the drain.

Hey alll!

Swam today with the zoomers, they used to cause my foot to cramp but didn't today.  Definitely felt the concept of keeping feet/knees straight with a long body.  Rode last night on the trainer doing intervals, keep telling myself its good for me!

Good to see some posts. Thanks everyone for getting back on here. Our season has started. It is wicked hot here. Rode Tour de Cure this weekend and felt like a dinner roll in an oven it was sooooo hot. Gary - I wondered who stole those pics but I was a cute naked baby. I wanna hear about Wildflower. Fit - awesome job. You shouldn't be surprised by the improvement since you joined this group. It is to be expected. Have a good day everybody.

Heya,

Well just 4 days till my first outdoor race this season.  Getting excited...so many little things to take care of...  I know I 'm trained up enough though.

I've been incredibly fortunate to have fallen in with some pretty good triathletes who are starting up a TriClub in my area. They indicate I should be racing longer distances than I signed up for ( I have 4 try tri's and 1 sprint scheduled).  With the information and help I've obtained from you guys and the confidence and push I gotten from them I CAN"T WAIT to race this weekend.  I may end up changing some of the races up 1 level...we'll see how things go first though.

Anyways, good luck to all.  I'll write up a race report when I get back and MAYBE include some photos. (that is if they don't show me collapsed with attendants all around).

'til then Have Fun,

Glenn

Best of luck, Glenn!! Trust your training, relax and have fun! You'll rock the thing!!! Can't wait to hear about it!

Marianne, agreeing with LRR

I have my first tri of the season this weekend, too. Sprint, so fitting it right into the training schedule, no taper or anything ( 4 hrs of bike/1 hr run tomorrow, and a 2-3 hr run on Sat)... Looking forward to a an event that is only 1.5 hrs!

Good luck and have fun racing this weekend, Marianne, Glenn and Lena!!!!

I am going to a race too, the last round of the LA tri series. I went in and got the bike tunned up and a refit yesterday. I also bought a aqua cell bottle and the mount. Not sure why the velcro strap that holds the bottle doesn't have the velcro on the correct side so I had to twist it. It seems secure without it though. The second tube that comes with it is long so I have to trim it up. Its good when I am not in the aero position. I also bought a 2XU Men`s Endurance Trisuit. It feels just like a wrestling singlet so it feels good. We will see after tomorrow how it really is.

On that bottle, I think the velcro is supposed to go thru a loop and turn back on itself.  You might want to wrap 2 rubber bands over the velvro to keep the hooks in the loops.  Mine came loose during the final sprint of a training ride and i ended up sticking the entire bottle  inside my jersey until i got back to the car..
