You guys are really selling IMTX.  I want to run out and sign up for that

Jeff (rizer) - Nice pics!  You're smiling in one of them, too!  Thanks for sharing.

Off to the gym....

There are pluses.  It's not as scenic as a lot of places but the bike ride is pretty given we're not still in a massive drought.  The ride and run are pretty flat.  The crowds on the run are insane.  Oh and the food, wine and beer here are off the charts.  Lets just say there is a reason we are the fattest city in America from time to time.

Almost 2 hour mountain bike ride this morning, with lots of climbing.  HAd 3 others with me. It was def chilly this morning at 38 degrees.  Wet as well.  But always so much fun.

Yesterdays 6.5 mile run didn't go so well. Pace was ok, but after 2 miles I got that same pain I experienced at the half marathon.  Outside, and back left corner behind left knee.  A little tight on the IT band as well.  Could that knee pain be from the IT band?  Does that extend from the knee to the hip.  I thought taking just about the whole week off after the HM would heal it.  Apparently not.  Feels totally fine on the bike, but not running.  Any thoughts?  I have a massage scheduled for Thursday.

Hopefully Scott's race day is going well for him.

10 mile run this morning, perfect morning for a run. Felt like crap but ground it out. I should ride the bike later, but that's a 50/50 right now. Stupid puppy/kid story: yesterday by day was book ended by cleaning up puppy poop and my 3 year old peed on me.

Just checked bike splits aren't up.  Can't tell if Ironmanlive.com isn't working or if everyone in M30-34 is still on the bike.

yeah I don't know. There's a ton without splits, but some have them. I can't imagine he's still out on the bike, though. It's after 2:30 there in Texas right now.

Got in a 5.25 mile run myself this morning, watching football now (and surfing the net).

So tomorrow I'm putting in the offer to buy the restaurant I've been checking out. I'm scared to death and excited as hell all at once. I hope they accept the offer, or at least come back with a reasonable counter. The broker said they know that whoever buys will be making a discounted offer, so that's what I'm doing (without going insultingly low I hope).

Jay just texted me from Soma.

Garmin time:

5hr 12-something minutes, great swim, great bike, blew up on the run (too hot and too hard on the bike).

Unofficial results: 70th overall men, 14 of 128 age group.

Morning, friends

Got in a decent run this morning.  May hit the gym for a short swim tonight...we'll see.  Anyway, I had a nice weekend.  We went to Patterson Farm to pick apples yesterday.  I love it when the kids get to see where food comes from.  Ended up buying 25 lbs. worth.  Sooo cheap doing it that way!

Just thought I'd share something silly.  I don't know if any of you watch the show SURVIVOR.  I've been a huge fan since it started.  I'm submitting an application to be on it in the next round...totally playing up the triathlete stay-at-home-mom thing (they're always looking for a mom...LOL).  If by some miracle I were to be selected to be on the show, I wouldn't be able to tell all of you, but I would strongly encourage you to watch the show.

Coffee just came out of my nose.  Havent watched the show in years, but i'll have to keep an ear out next season.  Just rememebr to pay taxes on your winnings.... So you dont eat meat but fermented, rotten pig testicles are okay?  Jen - you are definitely a character.

Sure, I'll eat pigs' balls for a million bucks.  I'm a Leo.  I crave attention.  Besides, then I'll be able to buy a tri bike.

Like I said, I'll let you guys know that you ought to watch the show if I hear anything back in the next year or so.  I know I'd be good at the physical stuff and I'd be a hard worker around camp, but I'm pretty sure I'd suck at the social game.  I can't hide my feelings very well, and I find it hard to deal with people whom I think are stupid a**hats.  Would be fun to watch, for sure.
