up to 89 miles as of this morning; much lower than others, but good for me.

had a crappy ride in the first half going out and picked it up for a negative split on the way back, as still recovering from a track workout last night. yuck, is all i have to say.

this challenge is what got me up at 6 this morning to get a bike in, so i think it's working.

I wanna play. Like vonrunner, I started the month off at a family reunion and didn't get back in the same state with my bike until the 7th. I also will be out of town for 4 days this weekend.

It will take some serious work to make this happen.

I have farther to go than anyone posting so far I think. 57.7 out of 400.

(One advantage - I love my bike)

I said in the initial thread that I was going for 30 hours, which even at my painfully slow pace, should mean that I would do at least 400 miles.  Due to the fact that I wasn't allowed to go to work last week, which resulted in me getting an extra week of vacation time and thus some much needed bike time, I did 15 hours through Sunday, much more than I had planned to do.   I'm up to 18.5 hours for the month, which is probably something around 260-280 miles as a very rough guess (I don't have a bike computer on my bike and don't really want one at this point- my training is focused on time).   Goal now for July is just to ride as much as possible as it became very clear during Eagleman what my biggest weakness of the 3 events is now.

Got 31 miles in tonight after my swim.

Thats 139.85 down and 260.15 to go!  I may have a real problem making it since I stripped the threads out on my crank tonight.  My right foot started to feel awefull loose that last mile, I thought it was a loose cleat.  When I got home I almost pulled the entire pedal out without even turning it.

111 miles down 289 to go. I have my tri on sunday so that's another 25 miles, but I'll still be behind at the half way mark in the month.

147 down, 253 to go.  I'm off work for most of next week so I'm hoping to catch up on mileage.  I don't want to have to do huge workouts at the end of the month that require so much recovery they hurt me in other areas.  On the other hand I'd like to finally get in a 60 miler next week which would be almost 20 more than my previous long.

I still am completely baffled when I think about what it would take to do 700.  Yeesh.  This 400 is enough for me and I'm pretty sure I won't hit this high again, maybe once the rest of the year.

158 down. 242 to go. I'll be off on the week of the 24th so I am still on pace for the 400. Keep in mind that my current mileage is already more than I ever did in one month.

No go out there and ride.....!

Nice job!  You're crouseing cruising.

I have to admit that the pressure of the challenge has already worked, as of tomorrow morning I'll have as many miles in by the 15th as I had all of last month.

If you are behind, don't give up!  Even if you think it is out of reach it is better to finish with 300/400 than 200/400. Get out there and ride!

Rode 43 miles today up to 156 with 244 to go.

Yesterday was my last day at work so I'm officially unemployed...with lots of riding planned this week. Sunday 50, Tuesday 50-60, and tomorrow if my daughter Emily wants to ride...maybe another 15-20.  Tomorrow is tri training with Emily day so we are running, doing ows, and if she wants to ride we'll go at her pace for the time she wants..maybe an hour. She has been asking to ride with me.

I also have more miles in 2006 than I did in all of 2005.

Keep riding everyone!

250 for me with a long ride planned tomorrow.  Hopefully I'll be doing a race at the end of the month.  So, I want to have most of this done by the 25th.

I have to have it all done by the 25th, as I am leaving the country for a month without my bike
220/400 - 180 to go
If I do 50 tomorrow and ride to work twice next week, plus 25 from the tri next weekend, I will still have to do 25 more somehow next weeek
I can do it!

finally broke the 100 barrier this morning with my longest ride yet, a bit over 30 miles. my hands annoyed me more than anything for the ride.

up to 119, so i'm not sure the end goal is in site, but breaking 200 is definitely doable and will be double of my past monthly mileage, so i can't complain.
