Subject: RE: Ironman 70.3 Augusta : Official Threadabroxton - 2013-03-21 3:30 PM Me and a few friends are planning on doing Augusta 70.3, the first at this distance for all of us. As I type this, I'm nervous. The swim portion, even with the river flow has me on pins and needles. I've completed countless 1/2 marathons, 5 in the last 2 months and I bike 30 - 50 miles regularly, done a few sprint tri's, will do a few more during the season here in FL and add a couple of Olympic or Internationals but oh that swim. :-) Either way, I'm going to do it, made the committment last year this time to do it in 2013 so here goes. All advice appreciated!
You will love it! The swim is crazy fast just like the rest of the course. Best advice I can offer is have fun since you only get 1 first 70.3. Oh and if you are from a "flat" area don't let the first 14 miles or so fool you because there are a few rolling hills after that.
