Subject: RE: Wind SUCKS!Baowolf - 2008-10-22 12:13 PM Oh btw what is this penalty box you speak of. I had never heard of that how does it work (other than what you said). How do you know you have a yellow card or need to seek out a penalty box and how long do you have to stay in one etc. Teach me oh wise one. It is a WTC (Ironman) rule. You get a yellow card waved at you from the race official on the motorcycle which means you need to stop at one of the penalty tents (sprinkled around the course) and sign a piece of paper with your name and race number saying you were given a yellow card for an infraction. Yellow card offenses are like crossing the yellow line and minor infractions. A red card infraction is a stop at the penalty tent where you serve a timed stop of about 3 minutes with a stop watch and sign the paper with your name and number. Once your time is done, you get to go on your way. This way you serve your penalties on the course and don't get docked at the end when you may not know it. Again, it is a WTC thing. USAT rules give you a penalty assessed AFTER the race and docked against your time. |
