I've never tried to hide the fact that even though I'm a solid BOPer, I've been taking DHMO for years. My wife harps on me for taking so much during training, but I'm convinced it is just about the best performance enhancer I've ever come across and around here, it's as plentiful as water and until I'm a podium contender, I'll keep taking it.

I hope you don't make the podium, because I hate to see what will happen to you if you suddenly stop.  I hear that people don't do so well when they go cold turkey on that stuff.

Dammit, I knew the USAT would finally take away my McHancement breakfast and Diet Enpepsi hydration. Just don't touch my enhancinnamon rolls or it's on.

Testing is rediculous. The playing field is already not level...unenforced rules (drafting), uneven enforcement of the rules, the ability for the athletes to buy different advantages (aero, training at altitude, training camps, etc). I'm not at all concerned that if I finished 2nd that some dude was running EPO or HGH. Maybe it was the drug, his training, his equipment, his coaching, etc. How do you know?  The less time I spend thinking about that, the better.

And also...it's his money, his flaunting the law, his body he's wrecking. That's price enough.  The cost to me would be temporary, but the cost to him would be permanent - in mind and body, and potentially in freedom. Knock yourselves out, cheaters, but don't make me pay for it.

Not to mention the cost of the testing. If the USAT tested one from every AG, or even one from every other AG in each sanctioned race, the cost would absolutely DWARF the amount of prizes that the field might claim from AG placement.

Not in favor.

Considering the extreme competetiveness of top AGers and the currently absent testing for PEDs amongst their ranks, I would tend to think doping occurs more at the top echelon of AGer than the pros, who risk being tested routinely and risk being banned from competition and losing lucrative sponsorships for positive (or even suspect) test results.

I can't be convinced that some top AGers who have the time to train nearly as much as pros, have the money for the best coaching and equipment money can buy, will stop short of taking performance enhancers when it comes to a podium spot, Kona slot, whatever.  In our current system, they have everything to gain and nothing to lose by doping.

I would support random testing of the top AG finishers (whether it is a random sampling of the top 10, or the podium finishers), at major races such as 70.3 and IM championship qualifyers, nationals, etc. Such random sampling would place those who alrerady know they are in contention with the foreknowledge that they could be tested, and would also be well-versed in what was banned, have medical exemptions, whatever.

I am really worried about the banning of DHMO as well. I have noticed a severe reduction in performance if I go even 30 or 40 minutes without it on race day!
