Kids on facebook? (Page 2)

My kids are all on Facebook (18, 16, & 14).  I can't remember exactly when they got on, but the boys were around the same time a couple years ago and our daughter was the only one that got on early.  I think she was 12 when she set it up.

Our only rule was that Mom and Dad had to be friends so we could see everything that gets posted.

Personally I think the fears of facebook are overblown.  My kids are in far more danger driving to school in the morning than they are by a predator trying to lure them online.  I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it's so astronomically rare that it's a non issue as far as I'm concerned.

There are many things I see parents do that I don't approve of, but unless they're breaking the law it's none of my business what others do with their kids.

We had chips implanted in our kid's heads. We monitor their every thought and action through our spy microwave oven and shoe phone.

My oldest was able to open hers at the age of 13, but she had to add ALL the family as her friends. That helped keep her updates clean. What also helped was the one computer in the house being in the living room, and she didn't get a smartphone. Just a regular cell phone. She didn't have the access or even the time to be caught up in it. 

FB and times have changed, so of course I'll have to consider that when the other two hooligans come of age.
