You can't beat the garmins IMO.  Works for more than just running (I swim, bike and run with mine) plus you can use it on a trainer or treadmill if you buy the accessories.  I will use mine on vacation also in the car to make different locations (hotel, etc.) so if I get lost I can get back.  Plus you don't need to wear an Ipod when you are training either.  You basically get everything you need all in one.

I got my Nike+ for Christmas and have had no problems-just don't hop on the elliptical (it won't work). No battery or anyother problems. Need a new ipod nano though because I have the old one and the screen is starting to go out. Plus they have it out now where you can get a version that doesn't require an ipod. Helps if you get the Nike+ shoes to put the foot sensor in. Good shoes, $70 ish.

Just say no to the Nike Sport band.  It is very cool looking and fashionable yes, but the most important thing is you must be able to power it on.  Since Aug 8 I have had 2 and both have stopped working.  Still under warranty so I will take this one back now, but I think it has something to do with sweat.  I have some other beefs but I think I addressed the most important one.

Just say no.
