this brings up a very good point...

What do we do if BT suddenly goes away? What if some server error or hacker brings the sight down for good? Do we have a contingency plan? We saw what panic a brief outage caused...but what if it's worse? I'm scared

Exactly. I wouldn't know what to do. I'm scared too. What if the internet goes away and there's no more BT? What if some pissed off member brings it down?

Coincidentally, I was just starting a thread asking what other boards we frequent (my server crashed), and told the story of the RS.com (Rolling Stone) boards. I started on that board in 1998, but RS quit moderating, trolls took over, then RS one day just pulled the plug. There were about 200 of us that were fairly close knit (like here), one guy started a board called rscastaways.com and we all migrated over there. It's still thriving after eighteen months. But there was so much classic stuff that should have been archived but was totally lost on the old boards.
