1 pound apples = 2 large apples
1 pound apples = 3 or 4 medium apples
1 pound apples = 3 cups cored, sliced or chopped apples
1 pound apples = 1 1/3 cups applesauce
1 medium apple = 1 cup cored, sliced apples
1 medium apple = 3/4 cup cored, chopped apples
1 medium apple = 1/2 cup mashed apples
4 pounds fresh apples = 4 cups applesauce
4 pounds fresh apples = 1 pound dried apples
2 pounds fresh apples = filling for one 9-inch pie
1 pound dried apples = 4 1/3 cups
1 pound dried apples = 8 cups cooked apples
A bushel of apples is the dry equivalent of 2 gallons of produce.
1 -21 oz. can apple pie filling = 2 1/3 cups

I find it easier to weigh them.

2.5 lbs of apples yields approximately 2 lbs of peeled/sliced/cored apple, enough for 1 pie.

We have a small apple tree in the backyard; I'm pretty sure they are Cortland apples. They are delish and I've made 2 pies and canned applesauce from that bounty.

I use an apple corer, so it's whatever standard size that is. I slice to about 1/4 inch. To accomplish this, I simply quarter the peeled/cored apple. Then I cut a quarter in 2 equal halves, then those are cut in 2 (and I might make one more cut, depends on the size of the apple). The slices are pretty uniform that way.

We've moved to NH, so I am enjoying lots of fresh, tasty, locally grown fruits and veggies. I grew tomatoes for the first time ever. So delish! Florida is good for growing citrus, but not much else. The blueberries grown here taste so blueberryish! Same with other berries. What a treat.
