Am I the only one who sees other benefits to reducing the size and number of cars on the road? Forget climate change and take a look at the brown smog hanging over major cities.

Forget climate change if you must, but don't forget all those poisons that your children are breathing in because you need to drive a 7 passenger SUV to work everyday. Or is it also a myth that car exhaust is poisonous?

By breathing in the smog and reducing my lung capacity it is actually making my lungs work harder, thus strengthening them as well as teaching my body to work better with less air. Not to mention the essential vitamins and nutrients found in smog which saves me money on supplements.

Plus global warming is already raising ocean temps which will save me money on a wetsuit, and the sea-level rise will mean that the ocean will be closer so I can train in OW more. Not to mention the increase in tropical diseases will strengthen my immune system while training thru the more intense storms will increase my mental toughness. Also the more frequent droughts and floods will make me perfect my hydrating plan.

If there is a downside to the global warming we are causing I fail to see it.

You're right, I'm just being alarmist.

I heard that the giant Windmills kill lots of birds?

Not so much. The number of birds killed by wind turbines is a drop in the bucket compared to the numbers killed by plate glass windows and housecats.

and the "what does kills birds" isnt put into the correct context. lets take the bird deaths and DEVIDE that by the sqr ft of glass that is erected. does glass kill alot of birds, yes BC there is alot of glass all over the place. with out being in context it really means nothing, its like saying that in japan there is no gun crime without examining the fact that there arent any guns in the country, no wonder no one (or a few) are killed. lets look at the number of firearm fatalities in porportion to the number of guns.

I actually agree with you on that, tyrant.  After I posted I thought that one of you smart people would surely call me out on the apples-and-oranges comparison.

FWIW, the detail behind the study shows a national average mortality rate of 2.3 birds/turbine/year, and 3.4 bats/turbine/year (link below for your amusement & edification)

 So, to answer BellinghamSpence's question:

-->    I heard that the giant Windmills kill lots of birds?

It kind of depends on what you mean by "lots"....
