JGFTri - 2005-01-26 7:23 PMHmm... Lets see...Colts have best offense in league. They score 3 points against the PatsSteelers have the best defense in the league. Pats score 41. And Brady had a 103 degree fever.

Sure, when you factor in all of the stats, the Patriot's come out ahead. That's why the computer says that they're 7 point favorites today. They are a great team, no doubt.

But look, the Falcons had the best rushing record in the NFL. Jim Johnson's defense shut them down and the Eagles out rushed them by 50%.

This is one game and the Eagles are up to winning it. And just like the Red Sox having to go through New York to end the curse, I like the Eagles being the underdog and having to go through the Patriot's. I'd say the pressure is on New England.

Have the Patriots played against a team with a running quarterback this year? I don't think they have.

Donovan has tried to stay in the pocket all year. But this is the last game of the season, so I expect him to run a lot.

Yeah, McNabb is going to have to run to beat the Pats. The way NE plays, they always shut down the opposing teams first option. That means Westbrook on runs, screens, and passes. McNabb ran pretty well last year ( http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/live/NFL_20030914_NE@PHI). Rothlesburger (whatever??) did have a couple good runs last week and it looked like the Pats weren't ready for it. They will be ready for McNabb though.

As far as the Eagles shutting down the Falcons running game, yes that's impressive. But, realize ATL has no passing game besides Crumpler. NE does. The Eagles won't be able to stack the line to shut down Dillon like they could against ATL.

The Pats won two super bowls with no running game. This year they have the same QB, essentially the same WRs, and a top 5 RB. I'm not worried. Yes, in one game anything can happen. But it won't

And what is Freddie Mitchell doing giving Harrison and the Pats bulletin-board fodder? He should use those great hands of his to pull his head out of his arse!
