Hey Piper! I thought I saw you at the JB Ocean Resort, but I was in such a hurry so I couldn't stop to talk.  I said hi to you during the run.  I was wearing the red Marine Corps Tri Top.

I had a good race.  I was actually slower than last year because my bike was slower.  I'm not disappointed though, I'm carrying about 15 more pounds than last year.

Did you guys see little Kemper Reback?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLSOkJ4Rvfg

She does track workouts with Running Sports Racing.  She's something else.  One of 11 kids.  Her Aunt (Laura Reback Bennett) was 4th in the olympics.  She's named after Hunter Kemper because he's good friends with the family.

I remember you now during the run!  It was great hanging out all day at the resort after the rce..nice recovery time!
I saw Kemper...so amazing that she is already into it!  She comes from a great family line... I can see her being a force to be reckoned with!  Hope to see you soon!

Hey...

A good friend of mine was the one that lost his new Garmin 310 XT during the swimming in the kick and punch combat in the first bouy....He didn't continue the Race trying to find it...and...he was pissed off...the poor only enjoyed his new Garmin for one Week...

I bike with Louis on Thursdays.. I was wondering what happened as I saw him starting the bike well after many of the faster guys had finished....

This was my first tri to watch live - was it me, or was the bike turnaround a bit precarious?  I was watching from there with my brother, and we saw alot of very close calls - people turning around into on-coming traffic, people turning for lap 2 in front of others going straight to transition.. the latter was incredibly dangerous looking... a guy flying through at 26+ with a slower rider turning left across his front wheel....  maybe just my nerves as my first race is this weekend, but seemed less than ideal...

I enjoy this race so don't take this as a huge complaint but the entire bike course is a bit dangerous.  There are WAY too many people for such a short course.  Don't know about this year but last year there were over 600 racers on a 6 mile bike course.  Way too crowded.  I had times where bikes were 5 across trying to pass...that's too much.  and as much as I tried, it was impossible not to draft or block.

I'd like to see the race start 15 minutes earlier with an additional 3 waves but the same maximum number of participants.  It was plenty light 15 minutes prior to the start, the additional waves would thin out the crowds some, and the later waves would still be starting at the same time.

all that said, I had a great time and look forward to next year.

Speaking of next year, watch out co-ed relays!  My sister, BIL, and myself have decided to join forces in the relay next year and will take no prisoners.  Tongue out
