Subject: RE: Feelin' stupid? I know I am!HaHa Brian! Yea, that was not smart but I think I can beat that. Last summer we had some issues with our roof leaking and water coming in through one of the roof vents. We had some drywall damage to our family room ceiling. We did an adequate patch job to stop the leak while working with the insurance company to pay for the damages. The roof was replaced in October, and finally last week (on Wednesday) the drywaller repaired the ceiling, a 3-day job. Last Friday I went out for a run and as I usually do, I place my running shorts in the sink with the water running. I also had started the shower at the same time. While waiting for the shower to warm I decided to log-in to Quicken to review our closing docs (we are refinancing). When logging in, I enetered the wrong password, 3-times. Yea, we all know how that goes. I had to reset and totally forgot about the water running...then after spending a few minutes on-line I realized I had left the water running. The bath is directly above the family room. The bath is flooded. The vanity drawers are full of water. I go downstairs and water is leaking from the ceiling to the carpet. Not the same area where we just repaired but close. The damage is worse than we had from the vent leaking. Now that was stupid! |
