The 2XU I have dries very quickly. Right, Dan, that what I am saying. I wouldn't wear compression socks during the swim but these could be under your wet suit and they don't retain water at all, at least they didn't retain a lot of sweat when I ran in them and it was hot.Oh come on Bryan, man up & wear the socks under your wetsuit. ....with your speedo.... |

LOL! I would but I wonder if that would be considered a swimming aid having your feet in socks? Could be like a little flipper! |

Plantar Fasciitis is my problem but with the muscles tight all the way up the calf I woner if I could benefit any way with these? From a muscular stand point yes in terms of compression, but I am not aware of how they might prevent an injury like PF. Maybe DereKL will chime in with the medical opinion. Magic. |

Well, I was hoping for a bit more... But I agree that the benefits of compression are very debatable and I would never say they prevent injury. However, I have been doing this long enough and train hard enough to notice a difference in how I "feel" after wearing them for training. that includes the socks and the recovery tights. I "feel" less D.O.M.S. and I am not prone to the hype. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() KathyG - 2009-08-23 6:28 PM I recently got a pair and like them more than the 2ZU ones I had been wearing. I'm planning on using them for IM Canada next Sunday. I've worn them under my wetsuit, riding and running to test them out and been happy with them. Kathy, I currently wear 2XU ones as well. They are a different material than the Zoot sleeves. How do you feel about them after the swim? Do they retain more water than the 2XU sleeves? |

They are a different material than the Zoot sleeves. How do you feel about them after the swim? Do they retain more water than the 2XU sleeves? Totally different material. 2ZU feel more like arm warmers type material. Zoots material is different and it is shaped like your leg it feels thicker to me but feels more compressive. Zoots feel warmer to me when I did a ride and it was 94 and really humid but in time that feeling went away. Forecast for IM Canada a week out is high of 85. I wore them under my wetsuit for 1.5 hour swim this week and left them on while I drove home to see how they'd dry out and how they'd feel and they worked fine and dried pretty quickly. Now in IM with peeing on the bike it may make it interesting but maybe keep my socks dry. Edited by KathyG 2009-08-23 7:01 PM |

You wouldn't blister on the bike, but you could on the run. Although how long does it take for a fresh pair of socks in T2 to get sweaty and wet? Not too long. Here at IMAX, the socks would likely dry out quickly after T1. |
