gsulee - 2006-03-06 1:18 PM I found Angels and Demons to be much better with the exception of the scene where jumps out of the helicopter....that pretty much ruined it for me. I listened to Davinci and found it too similar to A&D. I have read some of his other stuff, but didnt care for most them.

LOL...I had forgotten about that.  Yea, that was utterly ridiculous.

Get ready to see one of the largest copyright infringement cases ever...if the plaintiff wins, HOLY CRAP will that be a settlement.

I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts the plantiff doesn't win. Unless British copyright law is vastly different from our own. The main premise that he allegedly stole is a theory that has been around since the day after Jesus was crucified.

So if I read a history book and then right a fictional account loosely based on things I learned in said book are the authors entitled to proceeds? If anything he needs to find the alleged descendants of Jesus and pay them royalties for the story based on their lives.

I don't think the plaintiff will win either, but man is it going to be a good one to watch!

As much as learning media law in a country that's not your own has SUCKED, I've actually found it really interesting once I caught up...to the extent that I pondered going to law school when I go back to the States today.

I thought the book was entertaining, if somewhat predictable in parts. I will go see the movie for sure. I haven't seen too many Tom Hanks movies I dislike ( except for Terminal and Joe and the Volcanoe.)

The book was entertaining, and the Movie should be as well.  I think Ron Howard is directing, so the Howard/Hanks combo makes it a likely winner.

FWIW, I found his book "Angels and Demons" to be better, and more entertaining than DaVinci Code.  If you haven't read/listened to that one, you should check it out.

Ditto!
