I will take the hotdog stand at the edge of town or up the street from the garage in just about any mid sized town in NA for french fries.

Whether it is Papaya King, Greys Papaya or Nathans in NYC, The Varsity in Atlanta, Pinks in LA or LaFleur in Montreal hotdog joints almost always have the best fries.

stupidnickname - 2005-08-16 7:35 PM Chantal? Emile Henri? Bah! All-clad, baby, All-clad.

Alas, I have no one to cook for anymore, no one to spoil with my delectable creations.
Renee, you could spoil me. You know, if you wanted to.

I paid $70 for a set 20 years ago, purchased at Pace Membership Warehouse. They look much like the All-Clad. The set included large stock pot, stock pot sized steamer/double, dutch oven, large skillet, omelette pan, butter warmer, and double boiler/sauce pan. I love them so much I just can't bring myself to replace them.

Stupidnickname, I can't spoil ya and call you Stupid at the same time. It's emotionally incongruous. Other than that, name your dish.

Nice. I wish I get a set of All Clad. The only dish that I cook at home is hard-boiled eggs. How pathetic.

Keeping this a fry thread: Had DQ french fries last night. Very tasty cus' they were fried in a new batch of oil.

I had a friend that worked in a pizza parlor. He said they only changed the oil ONCE A WEEK! GROSS!

Yeah you can. It's not me that's stupid, it's the nickname. Just think: Stupid nickname, Hunky stud. There you go.

Other than that, name your dish.

I've been having a recurring daydream about beef bourguignon lately.

It sounds like you saw Rick Sebak's Hot Dog documentary. All of his shows make me really, really, really hungry. The sandwich one in particular.

I would like to use your recipe but I insist on having a $149 mandoline (YES, THAT'S FRENCH) to cut my French Fries. I could use one of my snazzy Henckel's for the job but it just wouldn't be the same.

Tri gear freaks have nothing on kitchen gear freaks.

I have a cheap mandoline, but I prefer to show off my amazing knife skills.

Wookie. The best fries (pommes frites) I have ever eaten are in your home town at

Un peu expensive, mais absolument fantastique!

The best french fries I ever had were homemade in France (naturally) fried in pure duck fat.

My arteries harden just thinking about it.
