Subject: RE: Start the Insanity!I just finished the program as a little break from SBR. For anyone who is interested in trying Insanity, here are my observations: - The workouts are challenging, especially in month 2
- There is a big difference between doing tri training for distance (moderate, steady efforts) and doing short, hard intervals. It will shock the system
- The program will build strength, especially in the upper body
- It is not a magic calorie burning bullet - I gained weight during the program because I maintained my typical diet; I must burn more calories with my regular tri training
- You will find yourself performing movements and doing things with your body that you didn't know you could do
- If you do a workout in a hotel gym (using a cheat sheet instead of the DVD), you will get some strange looks

Overall, I enjoyed the program and I am glad I did it. I miss my regular training, though, and I am excited to get back into it. I found it to be a great off-season break to maintain general fitness and enhance total body condition. |
