I am loving this show right now! I was worried that Olivia Munn (Sloan) wasn't going to pull off the roll but she is rocking it. The same goes with the guy playing Neal Sampat, I am loving his character.

Am I the only one waiting for Sloan and Will to hook up?

Ya, Olivia is rocking it. Sexy intelligent women are really hot.

...I don't see Sloan and Will hooking up. But sure... if the writers want to put in more drama and delay before him and McKenzie do then sure.

Just the whole scene where she was giving him the pep talk to talk to the girl and they made it sure we all knew she didnt have a BF and was bad at dating. Felt like that was setting something up for later.

Ya, they are certainly playing up the stereotype of intelligent people being completely incompetent at personal relationships.

Once again another entertaining episode.  Loved the Rudy tribute.

I didn't really know much about Sorkin before this, I didn't realize he also wrote The West Wing.  That show was always on against something else I was watching... so I never watched it.

... so now I'm downloading old episodes.   There is a DVD shop in our apartment complex, and they carry every TV show from the past 10 years EXCEPT TWW.   So I'm trying to download seasons.... at 30kbps it's going to take forever.  Three cheers for the "Great Firewall."   NOT.

Bro.... OK, first she was speaking Japanese in those hot nerdy glasses talking about nuclear reactors... I nearly had a melt down... But then going on to get all feisty and hot (arguing when she knew she was wrong) holding her own with Charlie... OMG, HS, FM!

Wow!

Another great show besides Olivia. And I will just say... I sort of hate when shows do self serving character pieces... where we all get to learn something new about them... and with a shrink no doubt... how cliched.... and it didn't even bother me. Good story, great writing.

Totally agree on every point. I didn't mind the shrink part and thought the actor that played the shrink did a great job. The receipt was good.

It used to annoy the heck out of me on Star Trek NG how say Warf would play a part in a western on the holo deck..  a Warf episode... when you have THE ENTIRE GALAXY AS SUBJECT MATTER!

Character episode over subject of the show...

Anyway, yes, the Doctor was really good. Then it had to sink in we were doing a back in time order.... and that whole bit with Santorum's spokesman going off on Will... that was actually moving. Interesting way of bringing up the topic... another great show.

.. but Back to SloanSmile

I was able to catch up on the last two episodes last nigth.  This show keeps getting better and better in my opinion.  It has been a while since i had seen such great writting on a TV show.

I specially enjoyed when Will and Don gave the new news of OBL death to the army vet, cops and pilots, it was very touching to see their reaction.

Every time that the show is getting to serious or emotional there is a clever joke or sarcastic comment to release the tension of the moment, who said that intellectualy stimulating shows can't be funny and entertaining.   Plus Sloan always helps

I really like Niel's character.. he has had some good stuff.. but Big Foot, and then the aliens last night.. that was funny... "she said WAY out of the box"... "well get back in the box"...

Sorry, Maggie and Jim are getting annoying. Not that I dislike either of them... but the "romantic tension" is just so over the top. She acts like a psycho ex when they both have other interests... I mean she is in a relationship. Sort of out of place with the rest of the show...get on with it already. At least Will and McKenzie dated.

The episode was good, but for something 6 months ago I can't remember "where I was" when I heard the news of OBL.

The final 3 episode preview looks good.

Big news for sure, but seems these days the news likes to make up "where you were" stories, and it seemed that way with the show. Not that big of a deal... I was not old enough for Kennedy. I certainly remember where I was on 9-11. OBL, after waiting for 9 years... not so much.

Good show though. Interesting about "breaking news". The plane scenes were good...
"Crazy Lady" was funny.

Was the captain of the plane someone I should know? Or was that just because he was a pilot that he will want to hear the news about the death to give some closure to 9/11.

I loved when the guy in the booth but on the NYFD hat.

I'm sure it was the second.  They were in a plane in NYC and and it is safe to assume that the 911 events had a significant impact on fligth crews all over.

That was my take too and it was interesting to show the different impacts it had on people... Neil's girlfriend, the police officers, pilots.

Did anyone think it was great how they managed to fit the News of the World hacking scandal into the plot of the show?

Pretty interesting as well the information in regards to the capabilites of NSA.  I dont doubt for a second that's actually happening.

Me neither.... why is there a black suburban out side...

It is sort of cool right now how they are blowing through all the big news stories... like the writers had something to say at the time, but no show to say it on.

My guess is they will get caught up real time by the end of the season and then start live next season. Sucks though because they miss the election... although I am TOTALLY NOT saying I want more "election time"... just that it is sort of big deal. Hopefully they will gloss over it to give it it's due and move on.

We also know they will get more into character shows and personal lives... but I'm curious how the show goes from here. The stories have been interesting, but how does it work in real time? Obviously, they have history to give them commentary on the issues they are going over now, and it sort of makes their "reporting" of it cool. But if they have no "real" info on a story, it's going to be hard to "rip it from the headlines" and cover it well for the show's purpose. And no, I don't care to just watch someone's personal take or spin/propaganda they wish to put forward because they have a drama staged in a news room.

We'll see. Great first season. Lot's of potential.

I wonder if they will take longer breaks between seasons to deal with this. That would suck.

It wasn't just that he was a pilot, it was that he was a pilot for United, which lost 2 flights that day along with the 2 AA flights.

Right, like the candidates would put them selves in front of a firing squad to be called on the carpet for what they say?

Wouldn't that be so awesome!!!

Curious how they will wrap it up. The relationship stuff is hit and miss. Will with his shrink is always good though.

I'm definitely down for another season.

That would certainly be awesome, that every single canditate would be held accountable for what they say.....I can only dream and also my TV would be more at ease, because it gets worried that some day i migth throw something at it.

I liked the comparison that they made to baseball players.  They were interviewed under oath in order to get the truth out, because as it was put they are “role models” to children and are setting a bad example.  On the other hand, it is a witch hunt  when the same standard is applied to politicians and their wild statements, who perhaps are not  “role models” but they do have a great deal of influence in our future.

I like most of the relationship stuff except Jim and Maggie.  I think that one has been complicated more than it needs to be.  Will and Mack it is something else, there is more story involved there and with the shrink coming into the picture it sheds some ligth why it is so complicated for them.

Everytime that the show ends it leaves me wanting to see more.  It had been a while since i have liked a drama series this much.  Hopefully there is another season in the plans.

Ya, Jim and Maggie are annoying... not that it would not be good they got together, but what is now is just dragging on and annoying. It's been a year for them in the show. Most people would have moved on. Maggie is in a relationship, but we have to see her tortured face every time Jim talks about the other girl. Get on with it.

Will and Mac I don't have a problem with. Normal stuff there with ex's.

The debates... you could see the "drama" with Will "attacking" the mock candidates. Some of the stuff we have heard and it was a little self serving. Nobody would do that.... but ya, the debates  "debate" nothing. It is nothing but soft ball questions which allow the candidates to throw out sound bites and the "rebuttals" are just more sound bites tossed out. Certainly room for improvement.

So the preview has will getting fired... we see how it goes down.
