One recommendation on the spreadsheet -- rather than "week 1", etc., how about "4/1-4/7", etc?  Or "week of 4/1", etc?  Otherwise we (or maybe it's just me) will be calculating which week we're on when I update my points.

Oops - I thought today was the start of the challenge.  Luckily I was on a hut trip w/ lots of vegans & vegetarians over the weekend.  I had buffalo chili, tho, yesterday while we were waiting for I70 to reopen.   I'll go post my points now.  Looking forward to this!

Today: vegan smoothie for breakfast; almond butter wrap for lunch; orange for snack.  Just gotta stay away from the cheese tonight!

Sorry! I think that's my fault since we initially discussed doing the 21 day challenge along with kickstart. I chatted with some other members and they thought that if we opened it up (adding vegetarian) there would be more participants.

I can trade you a vegetarian or vegan day for your chili day.

Good idea - updated.

So far I've got 1 vegetarian day and 3 vegan days!

My problem is the cheese too! I have yet to get a full vegan day. I've been off dairy in the past, and once I'm off it I am fine. It's just breaking the cycle I'm in right now. Hopefully this challenge will help me.

Me 3 on the cheese!!!! Man! I did vegan Friday and vegatarian everyday since... Gotta race this weekend so probably just stay vegatarian til after, don't know if I should mess with the vegan recovery days the day or two before a race!(Is that an excuse?? Lol!) Hope everyone is having a blessed week!

Cheese is my problem too. Right now I am doing a dairy free challenge to test whether I have a dairy sensitivity or not. There's a 10 day spread without dairy, and since that's the hardest thing for me I figure why not get the points by leaving out meat, eggs, and honey while I'm at it.

Honey is another weakness of mine! Gosh it is so good with peanut butter or almond butter :-) But I am going to be strong and get in some vegan days for sure!

I have homemade granola (made with honey) in the cupboard mocking me. Mmm... I will have some next week when I resume dairy for 3 (or more) days to test my sensitivity.

Alrighty - so to date I have racked up 9 points, first day vegetarian and the rest vegan. It's all thanks to my cut dairy challenge. I've felt like a recovering drug addict for the past two days and just ordered some pizza. Fail...

Hey, at least it will taste good until I wake up in the morning and think about what I've done.

Oooo 30 more minutes!!

Finished the first week off with a 10! I don't think that there will be a repeat... Well, maybe week four since it has extra days.

So far I'm ALL VEG and 1 VEGAN except for 2 days. I should probably add myself to the worksheet, huh? LOL

I was incredibly broke for a few days there ... friend bought me a burger lunch, then two days later I had to use up some stew meat in my freezer because there was no other decent protein in the house. Interestingly enough, I won a meat pie at pub trivia that same night ...

But I'm back on the wagon ... for now.

Good job! Back on the wagon... until the meat pie calls to you?

I ate some pad thai yesterday with chicken and shrimp in it so no points there.

I've been vegetarian every day except the buffalo chili day.  Amazing how I react to not being allowed to eat cheese -- that's all I had for dinner 4 nights in a row -- sliced cheese!  I swear a 4 year old is running my brain.   Last night I just had a little grated cheese on my rice & beans, so that's an improvement.

THANK YOU ... especially from someone who isn't even on the spreadsheet yet ... durr!

I've actually been off the wagon since I posted about the meat pie a week ago! Had something with meat every day. However ... I'm also really sick, low blood pressure and anemic, and it's just really tough to get good, absorbable iron in easier and cheaper than with some kind of beefy product + Vitamin C ...

TriAya,

I hope you feel better soon! I too am prone to anemia and actually saw a holistic nutritionist last year who made me so much better. So, I feel your pain. Beans, spinach, broccoli, carrot juice, etc. were some of my staples. I had fish every other day, and I would have red meat about once a week. Well, I have fallen off that program and hoping this challenge will give me the kickstart I need to get back. I felt amazing when eating right.

This week I have been vegetarian every day but one. I still haven't managed a vegan day yet, but I'm trying!

I did terrible this week. My average diet consists of next to no meat, but this week 3x!! It's because my parents made me pasta sauce with beef so i had it 1 night, then 2 more days to finish the leftovers.

Had a race Sunday(my 1st HIM, YEAH!!!), so no vegan daze but stuck to vegatarian! That's 11 weeks tomorrow!!! I have never felt this good in my life!! I recovered faster after this race than any race I've done. Granted I'm getting into to better shape, but I feel my diet habits are a factor as well...
