How's everyone coming along? Did a great 6miler at dusk today. I find that its getting darker and darker earlier, or is it just me? Doesn't matter, i like running at night anyways =).

Six miles on the treddy last night (inside because Gustav remnants continue to create pop-up thunderstorms, downpours, and the occasional tornado). Approximately 4.5 miles tonight after a 40-minute easy spin.

Yikes, tornado?  No thanks!  It looks like we'll be dealing with Hanna this weekend.  I am hoping it doesn't ruin my riding plans on Saturday.  We really need the rain so hopefully it will dump on us.  By the time it gets to us, it should just be a little rain storm though, no tornado's here!

Youch! The southeast part of the us is definitely taking a beating. Then I heard about Hurricane Ike following Hana too! What a dilemma! Would sure love to run in the rain though; haven't done that in a loooooong time!

Hey team.  With the week drawing to a close, we need to calculate our mileage soon.  So, as you can, post your total mileage for the week.

I have 15.44 (no more running for me this week

Dear Team Captains,

This is the first weekend of reporting.  Please email me your results by Sunday.  The earlier the better!!

My email is shawnbarr99@ yahoo.com.

What I need:

·         Each team members name and their miles run from 9/1 to 9/6

It would be a good idea if you PM all your team members today and remind them to post their miles asap and definitely before Saturday night.

Thanks for being a captain!! Please let me know if you have questions.

Thanks!!

ps...whew, this community organizer stuff is hard work :-)

14.85 miles so far for me this week. I'm planning to run tomorrow if I can drag my sorry butt to the gym to run on the treadmill (Hannah will be making her presence known in my neck of the woods tomorrow...). I'll post any additional miles tomorrow, but if you need to submit them earlier, I'll add tomorrows miles onto next week.

OHHHHH - Team Captains,

If your team members do NOT have anything posted by Saturday night.  Just send me what they have; even if it is ZERO.

There's no way I or you can wait around for people to post their miles.

Having a big, fat ZERO or forgetting to log miles will be great fodder for Harassment and Trash Talking next week.

Thanks!!

Ps...once I have your numbers and post results on Monday, I will not make adjustment for people who whine, "I forgot to post my miles."  Babies.

Runnin' god has spoken.

Nice job guys!  I didn't get any workout in today.  I could not be nastier outside if it tried.  My plan was to get up early and get a ride in but it was already rainy and yucky.  Oh well.  Of course now it's not raining but wicked humid.  Waiting for the rain and wind.  Kind of looking forward to a stormy afternoon.

I was hoping the rest of our team would be posting yesterday or today but no luck so far.  I'll wait until about 9:00 tonight then I'll let Shawn know our total milage.  Thanks to you all who have posted already!  Have a great weekend!

hi all, had a really hectic week so haven't been running or posting much. But just been for a nice run and am feeling a lot more positive about things. As long as I get to bed early tonight, I should manage my early morning run tomorrow. Only problem is that the Murray/Nadal game won't start until 10pm...

Today's weather here was AWFUL!  I dropped my little guy off at school and was planning on running outside but no way.  The skies opened up and drenched us.  I don't mind the rain but the lightening made me change my mind.  Off to the treadmill I went.  4.5 done.  Not real fun but I got it done.  Tomorrow is a nice 3 mile recovery run and Chuck E. Cheese day.  Go ahead, feel bad for me!

There's a special place in heaven for parents who endure Chuck E. Cheese for the sake of their kids.... my sympathies

At least you are going with your kid. I remember when I was a kid, I pouted for a couple days after being rejected to go there with my mommy.

Today, I got a new bike. So instead of running for full 9miler today, I sat down and oggle and grin and have conversation with this baby. It's sad I know. And I'm getting waxed tomorrow, which means no sweating tomorrow as well. Then there's friday, which is a full day moving in to new campus apartment, so I don't know if I'm getting my workout that I intended to do as of this week. I'll keep up to date!

New bike???  Pics please.  What did you get?  Road/mtn?  I got a mtn on Tuesday.  Love her but haven't gotten to the trail yet.  That is on for tomorrow.

Chuck E. Cheese wasn't horrible yesterday.  Our little group was the only one's there so the noise level wasn't too bad.  Glad its over though!

Today I have 4.5 miles to get through.  I'm hoping to drag a few mom's from the kids school with me today.  A few of them are trying to lose weight but don't seem to work out any.  So, I'm dragging them to the track.  We'll see how that works.

Here's some piccies for my new 52cm Specialized Allez Triple. I fitted it at an LBS yesterday and I thought it was decent  for the price, $900, for sora component grp and tiagra rear derrailleur, and the color scheme is sweet with the grey accents. I'm broke now, but since I got a stable job on campus, i'd be upgrading it! This baby will see my 2nd season unfold! Funny thing is, biking is my weakest leg and this bike being new and sweet, I couldn't seem to decide if I even want to make this bike see some road lol.

 So here it is:
