Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats kaqphin - 2008-03-01 6:57 PM Yup Cat will produce standard excel sheets - however if you want to put your teams up in google spreadsheet thats up to the team... I dont mind how its done as long as I get a cumulative update for everyone each week! I should point out at this point that Im a little non-tech.... I can use excel but Im certainly not a whizz like Dee! (and dont ask me about team tables.. thats when I get really useless!!!) Well, now that the cat's out of the bag... Um, wait - maybe I shouldn't phrase it that way, since Cat is running the challenge.... LOL Once Cat has the EXCEL spreadsheets, I'll upload them. Then, it will be a lot like last month, in terms of how you can log stuff. And Cat can log on whenever she wants, to look at the numbers. |

Hi Dee!!! Well in that case how about I just send you all the spreadsheets via Nibbs and you upload them all?

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats Cat and Dee--You guys ROCK and make an AWESOME team--even when you're not trying to be on a team Okay then, if we're going to do the google thing we'll get the link for this months challenge spreadsheet within the next couple of days. Everyone is responsible to self report you can do it after each day if you want becuse it resets once you put in your cumulative miles. For example, Shawn13 had 30 min 12 miles at the gym today then did another workout (I forget the distance) of 25 min. His entry is based on whether he signed up with a mileage goal or as hourly goal. Should he be energetic enough to go ride again tomorrow he would add whatever the hours or distance is to what is already on the sheet and the spead sheet automatically calculates percentages for us. Therefore the captain has an easy job of double checking the logs to make sure they correspond with the spread sheet. No special skill and not a huge time commitment but it is a commitment because you have to keep tack of the team. My job as cheerleader is mostly to inspire you and occasionally prod you into training We all can do that by putting each other on the friends lists and checking up on each other whenever you can. Just because this is a bike focus doesn't mean you can't make a comment on a run or swim workout--it's all about building the team! So who will be captain now that you know how the job gets done? |

Besides, I'm having fun as cheerleader and would like to give my team an opportunity to grow (isn't that a good manager style?) Edited by zipp1 2008-03-01 7:37 PM |

Veteran 202 Tucson | Subject: RE: Seriously Spooky Cats Hi all, I'm really Suzanne, totally new to triathlon, or exercise in general. Married, 2 young girls (10 & 6), and came "off the couch" last fall when my weight and stomach size became unacceptable. My first tri is in 2 weeks (March 16), and I'm getting nervous. I was in last month's swim challenge and although I didn't quite make goal (91%), the challenge got me to swim more and be very creative about getting to the pool. I should have no problems meeting my bike challenge this month since I've got the trainer set up in the den. |

Dee will shortly load it into google spreadsheet and the team/team captain can decide whether you want to use the hard copy or google. Generally - the google spreadsheet is easier as everyone logs into it each week and updates their own data for the week - this means the team captains job is generally to motivate/inspire and remind people to log in their data in time each week! At that time I will take whatever is in the google spreadsheet as the team report for the week when I write the update... So if you dont update in time you wont be included in yuor teams total for the week (but of course its the overall that counts!) |

If you're familiar with the DVDs, you'll get the joke! |
