Mel & Justin, it's a small world isn't it? I ran the Distance Classic Half-Mary one year - the first year that changed the course to run 'down' High St. I worked at Battelle and lived in Clintonville - I miss Columbus some, but the Buckeyes (no offence), not so much.

Betsy...OWS? I have to laugh because all of our lakes out here are still ice covered and I have a foot of snow in my yard. It'll be towards the end of May before any lake swimming, even in a wetsuit, is feasible. I am quite jealous.

Getting my bike back from the LBS all tuned up and ready for some riding! Next week, I'm hoping the shed the trainer for good!

Some of the Buckeye fans can be really annoying... I agree. I do follow the team but don't get caught up in too much of the hype. But, it is nice being able to kick back and relax with a couple friends on Saturday afternoons during the fall... It is a nice recovery after a long morning workout.

Hi all-

Jim here....cant believe my challenge started with a rest day (Tues)...of course which means I am right on track.  Have a super sprint at the end of the month and training for a sprint tri in mid June.  Leaving for Mexico on Saturday morning so we will see how truly dedicated I am.  If I am a bit late in entering data next week just realize I might be internet challenged.

Glad to be part of group.

3100 yd swim this morning.

10% into the month...

Swim - 5600/16,800 - 33%
Bike - 1.03/11 hrs - 9.4%
Run - 0.5/11.5 hrs - 4.3%

A little ahead on the swim, which is good...I've got business travel to Chicago in a few weeks, and I don't want to get my swim yardage done in a hotel pool!

Well, I am going to have to modify my goals after all. I have come down with a raging case of tonsillitis. I'm on antibiotics and Prednisone. The doctor told me no training for at least 5 days, so that means the earliest I can do anything will be April 9. Since I'm losing 1/3rd of the month, I've reduced my original goals by 1/3rd.

Here are my new goals:

Bike: 33 miles
Run: 18 miles

Ouch!  Sorry to hear about that.  Take it easy and heal up.  If you need to change your goals based on how fast (or slow) you get better, it won't be a problem.

Thanks team! The biggest annoyance of all this to me is that I won't be able to run the Carlsbad 5000 this weekend after all. I've been looking forward to this race all year.
