I worked a ton of hours in May, so training was put on the back burner. I'm done with that. I'm starting out June with a triathlon...on Sunday (it'll be my 2nd). Hopefully that will get the ball rolling for me and keep me motivated. My ultimate goals are weightloss, so by completeing the distances for this challenge, I'm hoping to acheive my ultimate goal. And guess what, there are only 2 folks signed up in the Athena category on Sunday...I'm totally going to win 2nd place GO AVATAR AVENGERS!!! The Cheesecakes are going down!!! ...and I don't mean to our hips ladies! Kick A for the race on Sunday. |

Extreme Veteran 549 Cotati, CA | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Cant wait for Sunday...just finished my workouts for May and hit 109% for Team West. We are probably still going to lose so I will be changing my avatar to something unrelated to the west coast...not sure what it will be. Tomorrow is a rest day which means I get to do house work, laundry, yard work, laundry, wash the cars, laundry, shop for food for the week, run the dog, laundry, lay on the couch and pretend I am doing all those things (oops, thinking out loud again). And then Sunday! Long run day which for me is a short distance long run day....guess you just have to start somewhere. Tired of lugging the extra 30 lbs around. Maybe if I just stopped eating for a month. Maybe if I just donated my fat to science. Maybe just try a healthy liffe style in all aspect of my existence.....yeah right.... Stop me with this randomness before I hurt myself....Let's GO AA! I want my avatar back!

Expert 973 Berkeley, Calif. | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Hi, Team! Sorry I've taken so long to show up -- I was on vacation, and then I couldn't find you guys. Let's see...I'm Erin. Since I started training about a year ago I've done two sprints, one 10k, and I have my first half marathon tomorrow. Plus, I've had two races cancelled on me at the last minute, so I sort of count them as "done" races, heh. I'm totally into running so my challenges in June are to keep up with my biking and swimming and work in a little strength training. I've done three other challenges, once on a winning team, and we are totally kicking a$$ this month! I can taste it. (Also, I just put up this avatar and I'm not ready to change it yet.) So what's everyone got scheduled for June 1? We have to kick off the month right! Edit: I see that Jim's got a long run on Sunday and Carla's got a RACE. Yay! Good luck, Carla! (I'm assuming your name is Carla, by the way.) Edited by Fielding 2008-05-30 10:10 PM |

Extreme Veteran 877 Pa | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers I have about a 3 hour bike ride (give or take) scheduled for tomorrow. It should be a nice day in these parts (Phila Pa), so I'm looking forward to it. I am supposed to do a brick tomorrow but I may be short on time. I'd like to get at least 15 min. of running after the bike. Then off to my neice's baptism party. |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Do you guys want a Team Links table for your logs? If so, can anyone here write one? If no one can write it, I'll do it - if someone can pull together a list of team members and their log locations. For example: LastCall2003 - http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/index-weekly.asp?... If I have something like that ^^^^, it'll make it easy for me to turn it into a table for you. |

Master 1841 Sendai, Japan | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Hi everyone, My name is Dan and I'm currently living in Sendai, Japan. I am hoping to up my cycling time during the June challenge and ideally get back into running. I've been having problems with my knees for the past couple of months and backed off of running during the May challenge. Even though I did that, I ended up with sore knees. I'm now thinking that cycling may be part or all of the problem. Over the weekend I went out and bought a set of clipless pedals and shoes. I'm thinking that will help keep my knees in a consistent position during cycling and perhaps eliminate the problems I've had. It's worth a try anyway.
Dee: I expect you're really busy. I am pretty sure that I can put together a table if you haven't gotten around to it by the time I wake up.
