Someone had a good idea, so i here is a pic of my on my bike. I just got it in april and started riding it in May. never had a bike before and i love riding so far. It was a ridiculous deal on ebay and works great for me. I am hoping to start getting some stages in the next few days. Been out of town until today and hopefully if the weather holds will get a short 30-35 miles ride in later.

That is a very patriotic bike you've got there!   Hmm.  I've gotta dig one up too!

"...a short 3--35 mile ride"!!!  That's a decent ride for me!  Can I hang on to your rear wheel while you ride?

Lol, yea... i was so glad this bike was the one that I ended up getting on eBay. GO OLEMISS! Perfect colors haha. I really really need a tri short/top combo that matches though... that might be over the line though

Btw, Stage 1 done!

TdF question:  Why doesn't anyone use aerobars?  All they talk about on the telecast is aero this and aero that.  None of them have helmets or bars?  Is it against the rules?

So, not only are we logging a ton of miles but we are also the best looking team.  I'll quit so we can really take that title!

Helmets are required now-a-days.  Not sure if aerobars are against the rules on non-time trial days.  Areobars are quite dangerous while riding in the midst of a peloton, though.  A rider is just to squirrly on them and it is difficult to reach the brakes if a crash happens.

I was unclear.  I meant that they didn't have aero helmets on (rather than no helmet at all).  I think you're right.  It's the squirrelyness in the middle of a 30mph peleton that would be frowned upon.

I just can't believe how many miles these guys cover day after day after day.

Stage 3 down!  Another 35 miles, now I have have 12 more stages and 207.3 miles to go.  31% of goal achieved so far.

Looks like everyone is doing great.  I think we should have a good first week showing.

Speaking of having a good showing...of good looking people...don't we need to have a team captain? I was the Agritubel captain last year but I will be away for too much of the next two weeks to take that on. Anyone interested?

Great job so far guys and girls. Keep it up! I thnk we have a shot, although i am not sure how the scoring goes really..... is it just at the end of the whole thing who has completed most total percentage?

Anyway, i made the call this afternoon to not do a fast group ride tonight and opt to bike tomorrow but instead just do a good quality 9mile run or so. The forecast for tomorrow is the best i have seen in a week and a half(aka, no isolated T-storms) so i am going to try and knock out one of my bigger rides of the "tour". Going to shoot for 50-55 miles average 19mph. Will let you guys know how it goes.

TdF ansure. The short ansure is yes it is against the rules to have aero bars and helmets in the peleton (big riding group). Safety is the biggest concern. In ITU draft leagal tris, the aero bars can not go past the end of the handle bars for the same reason.

When it comes to cycling, they are steeped in tradition. That is a major reason the bike geometry has not changed in decades. Every new anything must pass a rules commity before being used. A few years back Floyd Lanis was trying to use a new aero set up known as the Praying Mantis. It was nixed just before the time trial. On one of Lance's title years, he had to wait until only days before a TT to find out his new aero hemet would be allowed.

Cycing dose not accept change well. Heck, when Greg LeMond came out with the first aero bars, it was a huge deal. Fortuanatly for us, we are gear geeks and our rules adapt faster

This is the link to my bike pic. I am not cool enough to attempt to put it into the thread at this point. Had too many problems importing the team roster into my goals

I like the bike!   My husband has the same 20 year old Look pedals on his commuter bike!

Those ITU rules are pretty crazy.  I'm limited on how agressive I can set up my tri bike due to those rules.

I would like to appoligize in advace for my lack of checking in on everyone's blogs. I am currently working hard on getting my next video review ready for Ron, and it is taking what little time I have on the computer to get it done. I hope to visit everyone's blogs this weekend by the lattest. In the meantime, keep up the good work!!

I have 2 stages done with a 30 minute stage to make up. I will be getting extra ridding time in this weekend I hope.

On a unrelated issue, I was sad to see Team Agrituble loose the yellow jersey today durring the time trial. I am hopping that I am posting this late enough not to burst any bubbles of those who are still watching the tour.

I'll take it if no one else has a burning desire to do it.  Who wants to be co-captain?
