Michigan vs Colorado triathlon living (Page 2)

I live at 9700' and rode my bike over 800 miles last October. My last ride up Vail Pass last year was November 19th. Snow almost never starts accumulating until mid-November. On the spring side, we usually start riding outside in April.

My wife and I just got back from a 11 day vacation in Colorado. We drove, spent 1 night in Durango, 4 nights in Boulder, 3 nights in Aspen, and 3 nights in Telluride. We were very excited to finally see Boulder as it's at the top of our list of places to move to next. We rented bikes and did great rides and run's. The town has a very heavy college/hippy vibe to it that we didn't care for very much. There was also a good deal of homeless around the University. It was disappointing and we are now considering more the Evergreen or Golden area (I have an office in Evergreen but it's very $ there). The training in Boulder was great, but I didn't find it to be quite all that.

If I could choose anyplace, I would pick Telluride, it was spectacular but very remote.

I live in Michigan and would pick Colorado. Michigan is fairly flat, while Colorado's got real, actual mountains. I really miss riding up big hills, but there's nothing longer than a 2 minute uphill anywhere near me.
