I got there about 6:45, ate my breakfast at the van, got the bike ready and headed over.

Once I got there, I had trouble staying warm. It was very cold this morning. I was in the pool at 9:09 and out of the water by 9:15, I got slowed down by woman breaststroking in front of me. I made decent time on the bike if I figured correctly and then had the worst run ever. But, as I was getting passed on the bike, I kept reminding myself to ride my own race and forget everyone else.

Unfortunately, I have an issue with my right leg when I run. My toe drops. I caught my toe during the last street crossing coming back up to the finish and wiped right out. But I just hopped right back up and kept on going. I had a great time....much better than the one I did and May and with only 3-4 weeks of training.

Sorry your run went badly. I almost fell off my bike at the end. Oops! Fortunately I recovered. I'm such a clutz!

I want to do another one. I'm going to start looking for one with a pool swim. I know I can do this.

It was stupid cold. My swim start was not until 10. I was freezing waiting around. But at least it was a little warmer when we started. My next one is going to be in a warmer month.

I think I have a cold now. I can't stop sneezing. Oh well, small price to pay.

Sorry,
I know I the feeling. I have been closed out the previous 2 yrs. This was the first year I was able to race. I am sorry you weren't able to.

There were something like 600+ people registered and on the results, there are 457 people shown.

Just posted my race report. Thanks everyone for your amazing support. I don't know how I would have done this without you.

I was looking pretty hard core coming out of the pool, but the best was the picture my sister's brother-in-law took as I finished. He blew it up and it shows me smiling.
