Hey everyone -

I'm Walt (or Wally). I chose Swimming as my limiter - hadn't done any since August since I really concentrated on running. But right now I'm fighting a knee injury. Physical Therapist said it's just an irritation under the kneecap, so I just need to rest it. But it's very painful when the cap slides over it - which is on every step I take. I thought the pool would be a good alternative, but I went yesterday and the bit of kicking seemed to bother it. But it seems I'm ok on the bike so looks like I'll be getting in alot of miles that way.

So everyone have a good Thanksgiving?

Ow ow ow. I've had that. It may be "just an irritation," but it hurts like crazy.

I could go for something cold, or hot, or wintry, or summery. Sorry to be so specific.

I'm Slugger, I'm a vampire (I work third shift - check out the time stamp!), and I have no clue what I signed up for with this challenge. Uh, durh, I think it was running. Um, sure, running sounds like fun!

Not sure how much I'll be able to ~~post pad~~ contribute meaningfully to the conversation since I'm running my first challenge, but hopefully I'll help keep our counts up.

Hey Walt, we're finally on a team together! I am registered for New Orleans, I registered a couple months ago. It will be my first half, and nicely timed with IMWI training. It's expensive, but it's typical for an Mdot so I'm sucking it up. The hotels are reasonable and the flights are pretty low from NY. Macca is racing it so I'm sure it's going to be a good one! Let me know if you end up doing it. There is a pretty big BT group so far. Should be fun!

How's mary recovery going? I've been L A Z Y. And loving it

It's actually incredibly cold this year, about the equivalent of the high 20s/30s most days, 40s some days. It's very rainy and wet here, and I got to experience a very big snowstorm, which is actually rare even in Amsterdam. But it's tradition and I wouldn't trade it for a warmer month. I love off season travel, it's like getting a place all to yourself.

I should probably head to my room, it's almost midnight here and I have to get up at 5:30 for my flight. It's the equivalent of getting up at 11:30pm EST so tomorrow will be a 24 hour day for me! It's bittersweet to be leaving. I've been here 9 times, I love it and in many ways I feel at home here, but I always look forward to getting back as well.
