Sorry I am a little late to the show, but had a good mile swim today.  I am also planning on a 20-30 mile bike ride tomorrow to take advantage of the somewhat warm weather here in upstate NY.  (Yes we get excited about anything over 45 or 50 degrees this time of year.)

Welcome to the challenge! We seem to be a quiet sort of leprechauns, but maybe this week we will find more time to chat!

Great workouts!

Hi Guys, hope you all had a good weekend.  It was beautiful here!  We all took advantage of the nice weather. Let's all have a great next week.  I have a 10 year old's birthday party to plan.  Seven girls for a sleep over on Friday night.  Is it wrong for me to already want a strong margarita?

Totally ok, as long as it has worn off by the time they get there! And then you can have another one (or two) as soon as they leave...

We have had a busy weekend. It is beautiful outside, and it finally warmed up late this afternoon.

I did my longest run ever today--I ran 5 of the 7 and a half miles I ran/walked. At this rate, I will be ready for the half mary I am doing in April.

Got a decent training weekend in, short run and strength on Saturday while my son was at Karate lessons, then a 45mile bike on Sunday.  Got some good family stuff as well as yard work done as well, so all in all a successful weekend.

Shoeless - 2009-03-07 9:10 AM I had my fastest 100 ever at the pool this morning! WAHOO! 1:19! For me that is pretty fast.

You were flyin'!   I'll just keep motoring along at 2:00's wonder how you folks zip along so fast.

Ah, but I was a 2:00/100 person just two years ago! You'll out-pace me in no time with the speed work you are doing!

Sounds like a great weekend, btw!

Wow and I thought I was busy! Hope everyone is able to get their training in. My sister left last night but my son is still sick, which means I having trouble getting my training in.  This is a recovery week per my coach but not meant to miss training all together. Kind of frustrated!

Week is fairly on schedule so far.   Took Monday off per schedule which was tough as I really wanted to swim.   Did a bike-run-bike yesterday and a swim today.  Took my bike into the LBS today for pre-race service and tuneup so no commuting tommorow.   Should be done Friday night so I'll get a long ride in over the weekend.

Well, this has been an unusual week! On Tuesday I swam, but then I ended up talking to my insurance agent too long, so I missed spin class. Wednesday I took a 'personal leave day', and yesterday, WAHOO!, we went skiing.

My kids' ski instructor invited us to ski at another place where he works. It has some serious double black diamond terrain. I've never skied like that before, and I sure wouldn't have if he hadn't been there to encourage. Some of the moguls were huge! We skied Mother Lode, Good Finger, Bad Finger, Spooky Hollow, etc.

Check this out: Discovery Backside

It was a rest week anyway, so I don't have too much mileage and yardage to make up.

Got back to it today. I just did a little 3-mile run; decided not to worry about my pace, but it turned out pretty good. Should be able to catch Masters swim in the a.m., then maybe a leetle bike ride in the afternoon. We'll see.

Got the flywheel back to my trainer yesterday, managed a 1.5 hours. Couldn't get the tension correct, I put my armadillo tires back on and with the new fly wheel I wasn't able to get into the big gears. Kind of frustrating.  My son seems better so hopefully I will be able to catch up next week, need to get in the water! The pool has been very cold 68 degrees.

An hour and a half is a big ride! Hope you get the tension figured out on your trainer. Can't wait to start riding outside again. Should be in the 50s next week, WAHOO!

Brrrrrrr, 68 degrees in the pool!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  The slumber party on Friday night was a huge success and amazingly the girls were in beds by 1am.  Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.

On another note, my CT scan came back good again, so I get another three months meds free!  Yea!

So I had to work last night and about an hour before I had to be in I started feeling lousy which meant it was too late to call in sick.  So that makes having the stomach flu three times in 6 months. On the positive note, I only threw up once and had the runs a few times, no fever, no chills and only had to take care of one patient.   I told my supervisor I was sick, but of course staff was already stretched thin, but do you think on her rounds threw she could ask how I was doing, show any bit of sympathy, I understand some people will make up stories to get out of work but, I am a responsible adult who cares for very sick people I would hope she would have a clue!

I can already see that my goals will be very hard to meet this month, both kids are off from school the last week. Sorry guys, I'll do my best to catch up this week.

I'm back on the plan! Yesterday I did a 7-mile run, and today a 3000 yard swim. I'll be spinning this afternoon. Wish the weather would break again so I could get on my roadie!
