I'm a coach.

I prescribe it for people that are completely new to running.  So I am not at all against it.  However, I build them up to the point where they can run continuously, and then continue to build on that distance.

But I am firm in my belief that properly paced running will always be faster than run/walk.  I do not at all agree with that portion of Galloway's approach to running ........

Let's just say I run a 7/2 type appraoch.  I run a mile at a fairly brisk effort.  I walk for two minutes to "recover."  My walking pace is around 14 or so (based on the IM marathon that I had to walk for various reasons).  In two minutes I'll have gone 250 yards.  In a cycle of ten of those sessions I'll have run 11 miles + 740 yards for a total of 90 minutes.  Let's just say I decide to slow down my pace to my normal "run of the mill" run which is around 7:30 per mile and run that same 90 minutes.  I'll have gone 12 miles.  A further distance at more of an aerobic and sustainable effort.

Never "trained" with one, just wore it to look at and go, "Huh, that's interesting!" Cool

(Not too mention I actually tried to race with it in both Boston attempts.  We know how those went!  Probably why God made me leave it in the hotel when the wife and I left after the race.)
