By practice swim, do you mean the warmup? I always do a warmup for a sprint. It usually takes me around 800-1000 meters to really start feeling good in the water. I'm a strong swimmer, so it's not that I need so I can complete the swim... but I'll do better if I get a warmup beforehand. If I'm doing a sprint tri, I will get in the water and warmup if I can. It's good reading stuff like this. This week, I honestly started feeling smoother and faster once I hit 500yds. It has not made sense to me but that's how it felt. |
