Just looking at your results for Alp d'Huez, I think I am REALLY afraid..... can I start crying now, even though I won't be attempting this until later, or on Friday? Is it possible to average NEGATIVE miles per hour (trying to pedal up the hill, but getting 1/2 way up and unable to continue to go, so rolling backwards down the hill)....  it may happen, oh yes, it just may...

yep, I averaged 9.3 miles per hour....  next time maybe I shouldn't just try to do the challenge  without riding a while before it starts...  glad tomorrow is a rest day.. maybe the whole next week should be resting..

I never want to do that again.  I was shaking and dizzy when I got done.  Maybe I should have hit up a gel at some point.  Farking incredible.

Hey Scott,  did you see the goat too??  I think I saw 4 of them. They were next to that guy from the Ricola commercials.

Seriously, though, strong work, sir. That course is crazy tough... I talked to one of the MD's today who actually biked Alp d'Huez.. I told him that any thoughts of attempting parts of the Tour went right out the window after that ride... he said "oh, you could do that... it's probably the coolest ride you would ever do." Umm, yeah....

I saw 3 goats, 2 donkai, and a whole bunch of stars.  I didn't see the ricola guy, but the only thing that kept me going was the fact that I was watching the Mont Ventoux stage of last years tour.  I am not to proud to admit that I almost quit 3 times.

All other data really sucked. My biking is NOT where it should be..  I couldn't get comfortable during this ride. I think I shifted more during this ride than pretty much any ride I've done.... up/down, up/down.. I can only get better from here, right??

No mas!  Guys I have to flake on this.   I've been taking a two month break and started a new job last week. Today was the first day that I could get a workout....  The alps damn near killed me.

I'm hoping to get back in shape--my season starts in January.  I love the idea of a computrainer challenge and will do it in the future.

Cheer you rockstars.

C'mon, Roberto, take your punishment like the rest of us!

I hear ya. I went into this just coming back to the bike after a layoff, and I am BEAT UP!

I agree, we should do another of these, too!
