Subject: RE: "shoot for the moon" in 2010OK, here are my thoughts, based upon what I've read in your thread so far.... Feel free to ignore any of this, btw.
With 15 people: I suggest having 2 teams. Some people may join, but others may drop out. (It's been my experience that having only 5 people on a team means trouble for the team if someone disappears! But having 10 on the team means the impact is a lot less if someone drops out. )
It looks like you're either going to log distance or time.
If you go with distance: have a column where everyone can log their distance to-date. Then in the next column, divide that amount by 238857 miles. Format the field as %, and you'll get a percentage that they've traveled to the moon.
If you go with time, do the same thing, dividing by 3981 hours, to get the percentage.
However, keep in mind that not everyone will be logging miles or hours. Some people may use kilometers or minutes. So you'll have to decide how to handle this.
I'll be on the road traveling this afternoon, but I'll probably get online late tonight. Let me know if you have any questions. And yes, I can help with a spreadsheet, if you need it....
